No don’t get a haircut! I will support you not to!! Seriously I became a springboks fan during World Cup and I can’t stop watching and learning (from your channel) thank you from someone who was clueless and didn’t grow up in a rugby culture (NJ 🇺🇸)

Your last two minutes of commentary on the need to educate the audience on the laws of rugby is huge, and hopefully will be heard by the streaming and broadcast networks that carry rugby. Thank you for educating us!

Thank you brother! I was 2 for 12 years playing in the US military. Got to the point I played in national tournaments and against semi pro teams. We are now starting a club side in the Jr high school and then the high school once we get them trained up. What a wonderful game. 🎉

I am only half way through and this video is teaching me so much! Its hard just trying to pick it up as you go and coaches only have so much time in a practice to explain. Thank you!

Thanks again for a helpful and interesting explanation on the 'scrum'. Historically, I have been a football player/fan (until the game became full of faileactors!) and making the switch to rugby was challenging due to not really understanding the game and how it is played and the intricacies such as rucks, mauls and scrums. Your videos have been really helpful. I do agree that spectator education is an area that needs development and rules explanation ( e.g. offside) by commentators is helpful.

Yes rugby is still in the process of transitioning from being all about tradition to being about tradition and entertainment. It is however a slow and cumbersome process. Welcome onboard!!

Love that rugby content creators are starting to talk about scrums more
For such a big part of the game, it's not particularly understood by many beyond people that have played rugby as a forward

Thanks so much for your great videos. I completely agree with your last comments about World Rugby and television commentators needing to do a better job educating viewers and people interested in learning how and why the game is played.

Great work, mate! Really-really helpful! Only one correction: 7:24 when the ball kicked dead beyond dead ball line, options are scrum from where the kick happened OR 22 meter drop-out (you have mentioned goal line drop-out)

It really takes experiencing it to understand how subtle differences in bind placement can change the overall comfort and strength of the bind. There's also little tricks such as pulling your jersey tight to make it harder for the opposing player to get a good handful.

    Hello Couch Rugby.
I was wondering if you could do some breakdowns after games.
Especially now, to explain some of the rulings in this last game with Ireland?
    knees hitting the ball, etc.
What is the reason for decisions, and do you agree with all of them?

      Hi Jonathan.
It is a space I want to explore as I grow my channel. My biggest hurdle at this point in time is being able to turn around videos quick enough as I am currently only doing this as a side project.
So current topics are not that easy for me to cover as my videos take a lot of time to make and by the time I finished it the topic is no longer of high interest.
But be rest assured the plan is for me to start doing that as I hopefully am able to dedicate more time to this.
Ireland got some calls wich I can understand is hard to swallow this weekend. For the most part I think the main factor that counted against Ireland in these dicesions by the TMO is the fact that the on field decision was against them. Making it hard for the TMO to overturn when the evidence is not beyond despute.
Personally I feel Rugby referees have too much to do during the game and I believe we should at least explore if having more referees each with narrower and more focused responsibilities is a better way to go. Especially at the proffesional level.
The amount of frustration with decisions in Rugby is concerning and I dont blame the referees.

I'm an American, loved American Football since I was a child. I've always loved watching sports...I wouldn't necessarily tune in to some but for example, Olympics...I could watch anything with great vigor. That all said, last year I changed to watching soccer only...I found the Arsenals is the greatest team anywhere. I never watched rugby. Bits and parts but never interested me ever. Over the past 2 weeks, oh my goodness, I've NEVER enjoyed watching ANY sport more in my life! Rugby Union is more the taste I like watching. Wow man! What have I been missing! Exciting stuff. Kind of understand the ruck, punting...not necessarily punting out of bounds...??? I find the referee completely explaining stuff funny and especially love the penalty "foul play". Hysterical. Haven't found a league or team yet. So far watching replays of All Blacks, Springboks, Wallabies, Irish and Argentine games. Will be watching your videos to learn! Thanks!

You forgot if a kickoff doesn’t go 10 or goes straight out the recieving team can take a scrum at the halfway
