  • It may have been designed for the NASCAR super speedways, but the Plymouth Superbird was sold in dealerships back in 1970. It's one of the most outrageous cars ever sold to the public. Today's Automotive Evolution looks back at the winged warrior.
As always, let me know if I missed an important fact or made a mistake. Also, let me know if you have a fun story about this car!

I’ve always loved the Superbird! Clever solution using the vinyl roof to hide the rear window bodywork.

Great video. Hometown motors had one in the showroom for ages. I think there was a special chrome molding on the side of the the windshield that helped it cheat the wind. Thanks for the memories.

Rick, realizing you had a YT channel, I had to investigate further. No doubt, your public speaking content is invaluable for a very limited and competitive market. If you're trying to make a living, this is more like it. Understand, the masses like me are essentially brain-dead but love meaningless crap. I do have half a brain cell left and love stuff like this. If I felt I had anything to contribute to your further success, I would gladly do it, without question.
    You're a good man, Charlie Brown. 😉

The great thing about the Martin Auto Museum is that we not only let people touch the cars, but they can also get inside. Some of the really expensive cars are behind ropes, but most of them allow you get in and sit behind the wheel. It's a rare museum that allows you to truly get up close and personal with their cars!
