I have a question that if you shut down the pump, how could you still get the signal? Isn’t that pump push the Mobile phase (sample) into the detectors? If pump shutter, shouldn’t be any signal, right?

I was thinking the same. I would imagine the flow would stop almost immediately. I guess the detector will just continue to read what's in the flow cell window?...

@@TheJoshthebossYes. And the signal will drift significantly because the mobile phase in the cell will start to heat up.

    Thank you. Very useful.
One Q regarding MS noise/background/Ghost peaks in Agilent´s 1260 Infinity II LC-MS System.
How could you remove background spectral (Ghost Peaks?) peaks that appear in both blanks and water (-ve control) runs? I´m getting these noise peaks with m/z of 255.3, 356.3, and 509.4, also in my sample runs. What steps do you suggest to follow stepwise to fix these Ghost/background peaks assuming the column is new?

Thank for your video. I have problem with my HPLC agilent. Sometimes it can't turn on the light automatically. I turn on the light from the control panel manually. How can repair it to be automatically. My next question is that after 5-6 samples hplc doesn't give right concentration. For example i inject the same vial two times. First time it gives a lot of chroma grams . Second time give the right concentration. What is the problem. I think its problem of the dedector
