i'm not wiccan,i'm what people like to call grey witch, but i still love all of these kind of songs. They ground me ,make me feel safe&one with nature that breathes. Peace.
Hearing what some people have to go through with their family members makes me happy that my mother is so understanding. She's Christian and when I told her she went to the library the next day and got me three book on Wicca and Witchcraft so that i knew what it was, even to this day she still helps me, she bought me my first Tarot cards a few weeks ago, she is so understanding. She even came to Nottingham's Pagan Pride festival. My mum now calls herself a Christian Pagan, she felt welcome there
I don't know why, but this song first makes me relax...and then I'm singing along with it. I've always been fascinated by wiccans and pagans. And by listening to many of the chants (not all that easy to find, mind you) I think I'm coming to a better understanding.
this chant can be applied to many workings whether grounding rituals or even spellwork. ive used this chant a few times and found it can help very much.
I like this very much. I can use it for my person use, but it would also be good for group work, either as a background chant or a template for new chants. I'd like to form (or join) a coven in my area and see how so many chants would fit group practice. I long so much for a group to be part of...This helps somewhat.
I love these chants. I am a High Priestess for a Pagan path that isn't Wicca (a Family Tradition), but I certainly love the Wiccan chants. We have our own chants too, but these always sound so beautiful to me!
That's pretty good advice. It's commonplace nowadays to have the urge to express our deep beliefs to everyone, but sometimes it's best not to say anything unless asked. I suppose it all depends on the situation / circumstance. In any case, very nice video!!!
I wish I could hug you. :P You are the type of person who is a true Christian and you seem like one of the people who I would actually enjoy talking to.
i know this is a wiccan chant but it is also very helpful for us druids as well brothers and sisters be blessed under the graces of the gods and goddesess. so go in peace and spread well being t all those who you meet.
a wiccan or Wicca is some one that believes that the earth is the MOST sacred thing that we have. our code of honor is "do what you wilt so long as you harm none" Wicca is the religion that most wiccans follow if you really want more information on this may I suggest you read Buckland's everything about Wicca and witchcraft.
I am 13 years old girl. I was looking for a religion, what describes my mind and my thoughts the most. And I think I found it. I feel some kind of harmony in these chants. Something deep, pure and kind. I want to know more about Wicca and Wiccans. I know, they believe in God and Goddess, they adore nature and have some celebrations. Could someone explain me more? I would be very thankful. :)
hey, im 12 and a half and i just started wicca a week ago. Wicca is very peaceful its all about connecting with nature and other stuff, i would do some research if i were you and after you could make of book of shadows xox :) Blessed Be.
@95DreamerDay I honestly don't know what a triquetra is, but I learned at a young age hate breeds more hate, and only understanding, love and peace can destory that hate. So I thank you for your thanks. I don't get that much in life. :)
very very rare to find people who can accept who you are like that....my sister is christian and i know her still as i've known her for years, can never stop loving her for being what she wants to be
@Ravenwind84 I believe they are saying "as their roots reach down through the deep dark loam" loam is a type of soil composed of sand and clay. but thats just a guess.
Very very enchanting,im going to order a CD.Ive allways had a weird strong interest in witchcraft etc,and wicca.I also have very very strong interests in Native American culture. I loved visiting the witchcraft museum in Boscastle,I was fascinated and wished i could have spent another day in there.Im in the midlands where can i go to find more out about wicca etc?
@StriveToKnow I learned at a young age hate breeds more hate, and only understanding, love and peace can destory that hate. So I thank you for your thanks. I don't get that much in life. :)
As someone who made the choice years ago to convert, the best advice I can give is to read up as much as you can on what interests you. Try and not rely on just one source, as there are many different books on Wicca, all with their own viewpoints and merit. Beyond that, know that Wicca is not something to dabble in if it's not a path you're willing to commit to. Be true to yourself, and see, over time, if it's the path best for you. Blessed be.
@FallenKnightXIII i completely agree with you. i used to be a christian, but i lost my faith. i got into wicca, and i have realized how beautiful everything is. i have realized how individuality is so important, and some religions are better for different people. ithink people should stop judging before they know anything about what it really is. some christians just assume that witch craft and wicca are satan worshipping. they think this because of the salem witch trials that happened years ago
@FallenKnightXIII oh knight, if only more held ur values. were nothing to be feared. and at last, a sensible person who doesnt want to see us on a pyre. blessed be to u
My mom @ first wasn't very understanding but after a couple of months she realized I wasn't going to change so she accepted me as who I am she even got me a tarot card deck & every now & then I get my charkas read & cleansed
i'm sagittarius too, if the element of our sign is fire, maybe we need to contact more with another elements like water to help us balance and harmonize our energies... and if you acept the ideia of a astrologic sign you can also notice that are ascendent signs too and they can be "oposite" in elements (;
I hear the last wrod to be Loom (sp) loom is the gathering of fallen pine needles and such under the tree. it makes a carpet in the forest and helps give nutrients to forest soil.
@StriveToKnow - Same here. My father is a preacher. I just began my private journey being honest with myself. My next step is to teach my children what I believe. I don't know how I will face my father "the watch man of God". After all the brainwashing and fear implanted about hell fire, I know I will never go back to that place.
Correct me if I'm wrong. I am new to wicca, and learned about it through my Norse family background. My great grandfather (a high priest in his old group or coven, I don't know exactly what it's called.) isn't around anymore. So I can't learn from him. But I meditate to this song, it helps me connect. Is that wrong?
"The leaves on the trees
Reach up to the sky
As the roots reach down
Through the deep dark earth"
Blessed be!!
"The leaves on the trees
Reach up to the sky
As their roots reach down
To the deep dark earth"
Blessed Be!
Am I the only one who uses this chant to calm anxiety? Because it really truly has been helping me.
Beautiful song... i find myself walking and singing it during my day
I'm a Christian but I honestly find these sort of songs comforting and beautiful :)
i love this chant. it makes me feel extremly connected 2 the Earth. deffinetly a good chant if u want 2 connect with Earth
Respect from the Celtic Pagans of Eire. Mother Nature is proud when we all sing of the old paths. Saoirse
Ah, love this! So simple yet so haunting.
And love the background image too! ;D

This sounds like it would make a good grounding vhant
Mmmm... beautiful! I need to listen to this while grounding and meditating!
As a witch, and someone raised with Christianity, I am happy to know that some Christians do understand the messages of Jesus Christ.
I don't know why, but this song first makes me relax...and then I'm singing along with it. I've always been fascinated by wiccans and pagans. And by listening to many of the chants (not all that easy to find, mind you) I think I'm coming to a better understanding.

It just started to blend into the background. It felt nice. :}
Very beautiful and yet very simple. I really enjoyed it. Thank you!

@Ravenwind84 I believe they are saying "as their roots reach down through the deep dark loam" loam is a type of soil composed of sand and clay. but thats just a guess.

A healthy tree is a pefect example of True Balance. Balance between Light and Dark, Chaos and Order.
