Besides the cello, is there a more beautiful sound. Beauty is held in the eye and ears of the beholder. This is gradeous to me! I want one very much!!! Thank you! 66carpenter
Phil has a wonderful expression as a whistle player. Always a source for my own. Thank you so much! I bought a V5 myself after the appearance and I am very happy with it. It has completed my Low D collection. Perfectly balanced, very good also for beginners controllable and a great windy whistle sound. Thanks Phil!
Phil's whistles are amazing, simply wonderful instruments! I love them! The V5 is a BIG step further from the V4. Now the V5 and the Kerry Pro Restricted are my darlings. Phil, thank you... and thanks for your tutorials!!!!! Toby, you are great!!
Great video. Love the duet at the end. I’ve had my thunderbird for six months now and it really packs a punch Phil. My first low whistle. Can’t wait to put up videos performing here in Miami. 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Can I ask some advice should I buy some music score for my V5 or shall I learn by ear from the start? Thankyou , oh and I love your playing, you are very skilled indeed 👍
Can you tell me what that beautiful music is you played , it just wonderful , I’ve decided to buy one . I played alto saxophone for many years so I hope as a beginner I will pick it up alright , I love bassy instruments thankyou.
I want to know what piece of music did he began to play. Lonely and beautiful. I have just ordered the low D tunable V5. I can hardly wait until it arrives.
I just received one of these in the mail and I am transitioning from high D whistles (like most). Beautiful instrument and I really like the sound of it. I do find I have to push quite a bit in the high register or it really wants to jump back into the lower octave, but I am suspecting this may have to do with the fact that it's currently pretty cold in my apartment and this is more metal to warm up than I am used to ...?
I own Goldie,Clover, and V5. and to be honest V5 has the nearest sound I was looking for (airy sound with wisdom). Also the playablity is much easier than Goldie
Hi Toby, Can you tell me how the breath volume compares to others? I forgot the model I got from Phil years ago but the air volume needed was too much for me. I like the mouth piece on this one. Your opinion and advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
Awesome playing. I recently bought this whistle, but my high notes sounds very “dirty and unclean”. Can it be the whistle, or am I just blowing wrongly? :O
Wow, that's costly. I could get a real soprano Flute on Amazon for $100 or less, of course it has moving parts that may need maintenance after a year or two, but your Whistle is about $300 or more American dollars. Really nice sound, btw, which I think is the attraction to whistles. No pads and springs and levers make Whistles and primitive flutes have a cleaner sound. Is it chromatic?
Tunes
1. elk river blues
2. Lizzie in the lowground
3. The Roaring barmaid
Thanks pal!
WOW! I have no words... this was just incredible.
Could listen to this all day!! Great review and the playing was just something else - fantastic whistle Phil in terrific hands indeed
Cheers, yes it's agreat vid and many thanks to Toby for being involved.
Thanks Martin, they are selling like hot cakes thanks to this vid.Hoping to get some customer reviews soon on C&F.
What a wonderful sound! Instantly transported to the Cliffs of Moher!
Wow, you two playing together is amazing. Wish I was watching it live or that there was this kind of skilled performance here in Australia.

Wow!
I just ordered one! Such beautiful sound and beautiful playing by you two! What is the name of that jig?
The Galloping Barmaid.
I thought it was called the Roaring barmaid lol

What's the tune your playing in this video
Awesome playing. I recently bought this whistle, but my high notes sounds very “dirty and unclean”. Can it be the whistle, or am I just blowing wrongly? :O
Make sure the air way is clear and it needs to be blown harder than a pennywhistle.
Fair price...
It sounds like a shakuhachi flute.
Should I get a tuneable one or the fixed one? Any significant pros over the fixed?
You get pitch adjustment which is handy if you are playing with other fixed instruments.
Ethereal!!! What be that tune?
Amazing but how much is this whistle
www.kerrywhistles.com/product-page/chieftain-v5-fixed-low-d
Hi! I want to know what differences exist between the chieftain custom low d, V5 low D and the low d thunderbird😱😱😱
The V5 has a softer tome, the T'Bird is louder and richer.
The reel is awesome. What is the name of that tune played by Toby please ?
I'll ask Toby.
Liz in the ground - Liz Carol
What were the names of tunes played please?
that's a larger instrument than my Tin whistle. Can you play the Pipes?
Can you please tell me the diameter of a head shell for a low DWhistle.
15/16th.
How is this whistle compared to the Optima?
Bigger sound and very mellow, the Optima is more deltailed.
Thank you.
The 10 people who dislike are nazguln
99 pound plus postage - this is NOT a penny whistle. xD
Guess its a 9,900 pennies whistle lol!
Did you not have any clue that when you were talking nobody could hear you?
You guys always play in an echo chamber
Always.

You cannot get a good flute for less than $100. I've been playing the flute for my whole life and I'd never consider getting a cheap instrument.
Looks like a rip off of an MK.
Thank you Michael, and the MK idea was a rip off of?...and so it goes!
