The purpose of the show is not to say that Light is the villain of the story, on the contrary, it calls into question the morality of each viewer.
@@JulesLetargo Fair point. We both think that he's a villain based off of what he has done, especially with the "becoming a god" part. But I can see viewing him as an anti-hero, or even just a hero. I think part of the fun of it is deciding for yourself what he is, as you said.

The Shinigamis are not EVIL or any sorts....they are the angels of Death. Every Shinigami have their own personal Death Note which they carry

I would recommend watching the dub instead, its pne of the few anime where i prefer the dub over sub.

Both versions are good in their own ways, but the original sub gives the most accurate portrayal of the characters.
I agree dub is way better than sub for this anime
