The matchup I didn't know I needed to see. Sweeping sky hooks? Reverse alley-oops? Mel Turpin? Hair style and color lifted straight out of NBA 2K Create-a-Player? Checks all the boxes.
True dat! EJ was the leader of the Best Show in Town. He put UNR on the map of college hoops. The Bucks didn't put him into their 'scoring' roles. Instead they wanted him to rebound and block. Politics. I hear he lives in Bear, Delaware now. Hope he's livin' the dream. What an athlete, and so personable too.
Wow look at the level of skill of these players on these totally forgotten teams, look at the touch on the shots from the midrange and post. These are teams that casual and even serious fans today have never heard of and would tell you are "terrible"
I was born in Seattle in 1973, Sonics and Blazers fan, so you see what era I grew up in. McMillen was a solid player, who could play all three front court positions.
We had Edgar in Detroit. A real fan favorite with an odd but amiable personality, and once in a while he'd just erupt in a spectacular flurry of dunks and blocks before setting back into knucklehead obscurity. Gus Gerard was another one. The 70s and 80s spawned a bunch of benchwarmers who'd been ABA or CBA showmen.
Who was that fat number 8? Lonnie Shelton! I was born in Seattle in 1973, where I grew up. Sonics and Blazers fan. Japanese-American. A stiff, who didn't have cable TV until college, so my NBA viewing was limited to Sonics road games, and national TV games.
Tommy Prothro, when he was GM of the Cleveland Browns, once said he tried to recruit Shelton to UCLA to play tight end. But Lonnie chose BB and went to Oregon State to play power forward instead.
I wouldn't call Shelton a stiff. He was a decent player, and one of the NBA's toughest enforcers. He had several fights with Buck Williams and at least one with Maurice Lucas.

Edgar was one of the most underrated NBA PLAYERS EVER!!!! EXCELLENT PLAYER.
Instant offense of the bench
Edgar Jones shows a small glimpse of what Wolf Pack fans were treated to for four years! Thanks Edgar!
I am a Nevada alumni ('94)

I started watching the NBA in 1977, I remember these guys very well.
I feel like old nba hoopers don't get enough credit
I remember too I started watching in 1970
The michael jordan picture brought me here. I had to see a white haired guy run around like a teenager full nba season! Unbelievable!
Everyone in the IG comment section makes it sound like Tom McMillen is a plumber or electrician but he looks like a damm baller to me.
@@johnnyfastgunnahd4952 actually, if I was 6'11" I'd win mvp every year just kidding
Just like how people say Chris Dudley looks like a chemistry teacher. Yeah, most chemistry teachers aren't 6'11"!
Lmfaooo same thing I had to see who this dude was he had game tho. 🤣🤣🤣

Yes, that's one of the reasons I posted these videos
Yeah, it's really sad the disrespect these guys get from 'fans' today who never witnessed how beautifully true basketball used to be played
That damn hook shot was filthy

Didn't Tom McMillen later become a U.S. Congressperson?
D-Maryland 1987-93
PM's Far-Out Grooviness Thank you. I thought he was a Democrat, as was former Knick Bill Bradley.
He's also linked to Jeff Epstein
*Congressman
He became a congressman.
Here from a Jordan meme good solid player.
