step sequencer chaos patterns played on a piano

- I have been playing with step sequencers since the atari st days. If you ever held a chord down and played with the pattern dial or quantize setting with your free hand (some of) this should sound familiar.
When I don't do this as a performance like here I use it to "force a mistake", an unintended note off key or off timing. These then very often build the basis for my melody lines.
I haven't got the faintest idea what a step sequencer is, but that was pretty cool 😁
Cute you let your piano spy on the neighbors
@@mattshu it's just curious to know what's going on over there 😅

Wooden binoculars?
I made this out of 4 yoghurt cups glued together plus some paint 😁
Could use more ratchet jkjk
Sounds good!
I was running low on ratchet the night before already... 😂
1:12 - 1:21 with emphasis on 1:19. Just wow. That progression and melody is outstanding.
Thank you. Glad you like it. 😊 My new piano just arrived (literally, like 5 mins ago) so expect the same but sounding a lot better (in tune!! 😂) soon.
😊
@@Rid-iculo-us What! Your piano is already beautiful sounding. It's nicely bright and has a real sparkly sound to it. Please tell me you'll do a re-recording of Serenity Now.
@@LeavesDecaying I can try 😁 But every piano video I publish here is
improvised, often without any preconceived ideas (on purpose). It won't be the same song note by note. I can't do that. (I can't read sheet music either). But Im sure I can recap the vibe or mood...
The old piano is still here, but it has problems. It can't be tuned anymore, it's just too old. And it's tuned to a low Ab already. Makes it hard to play with other people.
@@Rid-iculo-us Okay, surprise me then! If you do something like what you did at 1:43 in Serenity Now in the new piece, I'll be quite happy. I love jazzy stuff. I'm a sucker for outside playing, dissonant chords, odd time signatures, complex riffs, and so on. Not trying to be demanding, though. Do as you please. Sad that the old piano can't be tuned anymore. The sound of some older pianos is so irreplaceable to me, but maybe that's because I like bright, open-sounding strings the best. I'm no professional, but would you say pianos sound different the way they are set up these days?
That's smart, leaving weird incomprehensible objects hanging off the side of your piano to drive commenter engagement.
I dont know what you mean. What do you see hanging off the piano??
I genuinely have no idea what that thing is either.
Do you mean the binoculars?
@@Rid-iculo-us lol, not sure I would have ever guessed that. What kind of binoculars are they?
I figured it was binoculars, but wondered what the piano was looking at.
It is an odd place for them.
J'aime le nombre de canaux
Super fun
Me encanta el nombre del canal
