I spent too much of my life paranoid about losing my salvation and missing the rapture. Christopher Hitchens was a voice of reason that calmed my nerves by dismantling the absurd ideas that held me captive. He delivered his message with such eloquence and courage. Timmy this is an excellent video and Merry Christmas to you also. RIP Christopher, we miss you.
Rest in Peace HITCH ❤. He was very learned, extremely articulate, and polished every time he addressed people regarding religion. He was and still is a big part of my deconstruction journey. A person has to actually THINK before they can deconstruct, and many are not willing to do that. He passed with esophageal cancer in 2011. He was an absolute treasure and a magnificent thinker. Loved him. IN MEMORY OF . . . 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
Christopher Hitchens was the most important voice in my deconstruction.. and most of all he impressed me and instilled a wish in me to have a backbone as strong as his. To talk truth with no fear and stand up for the right things and to fight nonsense. I wish he was still alive
Hitch was a gem! I wish I had the ability to respond to theists as quickly and brutally has he did. His knowledge of religion and quick-witted retorts to theists were simply masterful. Merry Xmas, Timmy! Hope you and yours have a wonderful holiday season.
Happy Winter Solstice, Timmy! And Merry Christmas & All That Stuff! Hey, glad to know you. I’m infamous in my hometown for getting kicked out of the Baptist church I grew up in! Yeah, baby! It was all based an a false accusation and my partner let me take the fall - he was actually guilty) but they truly did me a solid - it forced a reckoning within myself that started my deconstruction of religion at age 32 (hmm…significant age? haha). Now I’m a happy agnostic (and atheist as it refers to the god of the Bible) 😉
I too was a fundi for 45 plus years, from the Jesus People in Seattle to the 'Gifts of the Spirit' type church, including all the demon deliverances, home groups bible studies, Creationist conferences and all that garbage. I was in it 100%. Even went to Africa with Wycliffe Bible Translators. You know all that stuff. But as time went on it became harder and harder to deal with my cognitive dissonance between the way life really was and the life in the church bubble. I began a slow emergence away from that world as I saw that the power and truth of human experience was better communicated from Hollywood than from the pulpit. Finally, I got a copy of Dawkin's book, The Greatest Show on Earth, and learned how evolution really worked. That was a watershed read and in my thinking. I consumed Dawkins and Hitchens for everything the internet and bookstores could offer. I appreciate your stories and perspectives. I can relate so closely to what you have to share. As Darwin wrote, it is a grander view of life.
A pleasure to hear you today recite from arguably the best….Christoper Hutchins. He missed our age of social media but is recorded so many times and wrote so much that I am wholly grateful for these resources. He debated and debunked the best and I only wish he was here to do it some more. It was mastery at its best.
Happy Winterfest to all. Up until 2013, when my deconstruction concluded with my escape from religion, I hadn't even heard of Christopher Hitchens, or Sam Harris, or any of the folks discussing, heaven forbid, atheism on the internet. I might have heard of Richard Dawkins via my studies of biology. But living in my christian society, I had thought any discussions of atheism was essentially banned from internet. I discovered them when searching free thought and critical thinking. Since then, their words have given me the tools to explain my position and how to debate with the religious. I thank them immensely for their work. Take care, everyone.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family Timmy! Enjoying your videos and they are interesting, they make me think about the Christian faith deeper as I was raised Christian myself but also have an open mind about other belief systems and perspectives.
I'm going to have to listen to this again. I happen to have 'god is not Great' on my bookshelf. It's right next to books by Richard Dawkins and Dan Barker.
I love December. The solstice. The lighting of the darkness. The goodwill. You can physically feel it. God is in everything. We celebrate xmas the pagan way I suppose. And thats fine by me! Ans i love it 🎄🥰
I will admit Hitchens was a mastery of words with a great delivery. But when you break down what he says it’s not impressive. I watched him and listened to him for years before his passing. I watched him in real time get worse. But he rarely challenged my faith. I even have his books.

Merry Christmas! I was inspired by Christopher Hitchens, too. He was very direct and always on point. Thank you for the video.
Did not expect Hippie Walt Disney to appear in my UA-cam feed this morning.
Merry Christmas Timmy to you and family, thanks for your hard work in making us videos! Enjoy them.

Happy Holiday!
Did you say cuss and discuss? Well shit! 😂

Trust is not the same as faith. A friend is someone you trust. Putting faith in anyone is a mistake."Hitch"
Good Yule everyone!

👍
Do a quick “ Hitchens gets destroyed by Christian …” He batted about .400 when debating Christians
Merry Christ Myth to everyone. All humans need more scientific knowledge to escape the irrational beliefs of religion.
Look into Hugh Ross and his books . It takes way more faith to be an atheist than a Christian . The heavens declare the glory of the Lord .
hail Christopher Hitchens . Timmy you are a handsome dude but you lose cool points with those glasses.

Unctuous- “Unk-shoe-us” : oily, slick, greasy: pious or fawning in a smooth, insincere way. Unduly obsequious.
Happy Yuletide to you, dear sir. May true peace and loving warmth fill your heart in this Solstice season.
