Great review again Steve! I bought the so called Parnis equivalent about 4 years ago I’d reckon? And honestly for the money it was great value! The clasp is the only let down on that watch. I’d only like more water resistance in the Parnis, but if I inadvertently drown it,I won’t cry!🤣👍🏼😎
I had the Parnis a while back and upgraded to the Pagani for water resistance. It was great. This thing is just next level (as it should be for the price)
They just came out with the v-4 with a Peacock sl-4801 movement. It is a close clone of the Rolex 4130 movement with a vertical clutch. I wish someone would make a video of the new one.
Just saw the review for the Farasute homage. It's amazing that Sugess has managed to regulate their version so accurately while Farasute, even costing a few hundred bucks more, hasn't.
The 30 minute chrono dial makes it much easier to read when the other hands are in the way than if it was a 60 minute dial. Really makes a chronograph more useable. Love the reviews but this is the v2 version. Since the “Top Chronometer” is still on it in this video. I own two black one like this and new ice blue v3 with out the third line.
I am looking at the DateJust version of this watch-and Sugess just came out with one. If you had the choice: Would you get the Sugess or Ironwatch RX8005?
they seem to be very similar...but I never loved the color on my ironwatch. you get a lot more choice with the sugess. I've got my Sugess White/silver version in the mail now, so I'll be able to make a better call once I have it in hand. the ironwatch was pretty nice, though.
So I bought the version one, and after a few months the rotor started revolving on winding - which is typically caused by dirt in the automatic works. Sugess are fixing it now under warranty, but the finish is amazing, so so much better that my PD Daytona homage... It feels quality, it looks quality.

Thanks for showing this watch. I'm considering buy it exactly because of the thing you think is unusual: the minute counter being 30 minutes. If you actually want to use the minute counter dividing that tiny sub dial into 60 markers makes seeing it at a glance (pretend you're driving) impossible). That its a quick change is even nicer. It becomes obvious that you're into your second run of 30 minutes with the hour totalizer. Check out some good swiss movements like Omega Speedmaster or even the original Daytona (or even Seiko RAF issue Chronographs like the 7A28 series) and you'll find that 30 seconds was common if not the norm for exactly the reason I just mentioned. I hate 60 second sub dials ... they're just decorations
Beautiful watch, but I almost wish they would have ditched all that text at the top, and just used their cursive Sugess logo. Besides that, and the price, it's one of the best Dayton's I've seen!
I would wish you quick recovery but there is no quick recovery from this one unfortunately. It takes few months for those spots to disappear and they will tear apart your nails partially towards the end. Great watch btw. I really liked the movement and wonder if there are cheaper watches with the same movement.
Yeah, I heard I could lose fingernails towards the end....so that's awesome. Eff HFM. It sucks. Thanks for watching and the kind words. I really haven't seen many watches with this movement period, let alone cheaper.
This is a really interesting watch. It has too much shine for me. The scratches on it are already a turn off - and I wear my watches all the rime. Also, $350 for an unknown (to me at least) movement is a little steep. Although I donappfefiste the function of the sundials - I detest the 24 hour sundials on the VK63.
Update, i I ran the chronograph for 11 hours straight last night while wearing it. Held time beautifully overnight. I couldn't be happier with my 99 dollar used chronograph.
I picked one of these up and the movement broke after 4 months. Sending it back would be a pain and hassle, and reparing it would cost half the price of the watch. I'm not buying anything from sugess again.
@@highanddryful idk, I sit at a desk all day. I put it on after a couple days of no use and it wouldn't run as expected. Manual winding gave a lot of resistance and would sporadically run and stop depending on the position it was held at. It eventually stopped all together and one of the sub dial hands fell off. I'm chalking it up to poor quality control.
I think its a bit unfair to compare this to the Pagani, one is quartz and one auto. For an automatic chrono I think this is a fair price though and it may go on the list of watches to buy
Like i need to talk of chronographs, at all, you ask me to compare them.... Right, all yours! LOL Cheers Steve, be well mate. PS For the price i'd get as many different dial colours Pagani as i could. Luckily won't get into that too! hahaha
I have an Invicta Speedway with a similar Asian SL416 movement only difference is the 12-hour and 60 seconds are reverse. The movement works well only drawback is sometimes the 12-hour chronograph register moves when the chronograph is not in use.
Got this exact same watch on April 2023. Watch stopped working around November of the same year. Sent back to Sugess on December for warranty repair. Been following up on when I can get it back ever since. It's March now and all the response I got is "we'll keep you posted". Don't waste your money on this brand, it's not worth it.
This looks like the V1. The V3 doesn't have the (pretty nonsensical) "top chronometer" text - or at least that's what the image on AliExpress suggests.
after looking around, I think this is a V2. V1 was nearly 14mm thick. so this is the newer version. IIRC V3 moved away from the "top chonometer" text and added the ice blue colorways.
I was given one. Silver case and bezel with a black face. It really did look fantastic. Sadly, the movements they use just aren't built as well. +137 seconds a day! It went back under warranty and was no different. So it was returned for a refund. Why did they put such a terrible movement in such a nicely made case? This really could have been the ultimate Daytona homage. In the end, it's just not worth the money.
Mine was running within cosc parameters (under 4 seconds a day fast) for over 2 years. It was a great movement for me, sounds like you just got unlucky....maybe worth another try
I thought so too, but the guy i got it from said he thought it was a V3. only difference I can see now is the new colors and the "chronograph" text instead of "top chronometer"
@@EscapeWheel to be fair as far as I know it's the exact same watch, just different text, so the review is spot on, keep up the good work, enjoy the reviews
sugesswatch.com or seesternwatches.com are the official sugess/seestern stores. but honestly, especially right now, the price is lower on aliexpress and they are all the same stores. you actually get more protection with Aliexpress. but either of those sites above are OK to order from as well.
Nice however when it breaks and it will or needs serviced . Just throw in the bin as the service cost will be more than the watches purchase price.. you didn’t mention this !!!!!!!
Yes, same can be said for most Chinese watches. The movement can be had online for about $100, thankfully I have the tools and know-how to make the wap myself when the time comes. But definitely something to consider.
you know what would be nice for a V4 of these (or just as an addition to the V3)? a matter colourway (at least for the black, the other 2 i don't think need it), i.e. matte ceramic bezel, and flat white hands (with more lume?) and 3 printed or brushed indices :)
TBH i dont see the worth in this watch in comparison to the Pagani, which i have and its a nice watch for a fraction of the price and ive received a ton of compliments. Unless your next to a watch conissure they would not know the diff and i much prefer the movement on the pagani where i can change the battery for $20, not have to worry about when i wear it ( only as an outing watch as i wear my Apple watch daily ) as it will keep time and date. Also if this breaks down its not worth the repair and for the price this is in Australia ( $730 AUD 🫨) i may as well get a decent Seiko in all honesty. But a great review just the same 😊
Better finishing, better Lume, better bezel insert, better bracelet and clasp, better execution with the thinner rehaut. Don't get me wrong, the Pagani is great, but this is just next level. It looks like a much more expensive watch.
I have been toying with getting this, then I saw the Sugess printed round the rehaut and now I'm not. That is a massive turn-off for me.. And, no, I don't like it on the originals, either.

Manual winding gave a lot of resistance and would sporadically run and stop depending on the position it was held at. It eventually stopped all together and one of the sub dial hands fell off. I'm chalking it up to poor quality control.
I've been thinking about getting this watch. But it now sells for $448.
It's an updated version. New case, new movement. Too much for me as well.
@@EscapeWheel Well, knowing that it's an updated version means it must be a little better. But I haven't decided to buy it just yest.
I'm interested to hear how they get away with saying top chronometer, but the San martin review got we here.
I think its a bit unfair to compare this to the Pagani, one is quartz and one auto. For an automatic chrono I think this is a fair price though and it may go on the list of watches to buy
That's fair...but it's a comparison that I was expecting to be made...lol
I got the panda, and it’s a great fill in until the AD calls me( if I’m still alive) with my piece, the black looks really good.
enjoy it when it finally does come in!
Its a nice watch, but not nice enough to move away from my Phylida ST19 chrono. The Phylida is amazing for a cheap watch. Cheers!!
I agree, it's pretty nice. but this thing is just next level, honestly.
Like i need to talk of chronographs, at all, you ask me to compare them.... Right, all yours! LOL
Cheers Steve, be well mate.
PS For the price i'd get as many different dial colours Pagani as i could. Luckily won't get into that too! hahaha
Sugess just issue a new verson of Daytona homage, with column wheel movement and new Rolex style bezel.
I saw that. Looks nice but $$$$$
I have an Invicta Speedway with a similar Asian SL416 movement only difference is the 12-hour and 60 seconds are reverse.
Don't waste your money on this brand, it's not worth it.
keep pressing. threaten to have you credit card company do a charge-back. that's unacceptable customer service.
If that same watch had swiss made on it people would be very happy to buy said watch for a couple of thousand dollars.
They should use AR coated sapphire. Looks bad without it.
it would be nice for sure...originals don't use it though. so they can get away with not using it...lol
That's the older version my friend not the v3
I thought so too, but the guy i got it from said he thought it was a V3. only difference I can see now is the new colors and the "chronograph" text instead of "top chronometer"
@@EscapeWheel to be fair as far as I know it's the exact same watch, just different text, so the review is spot on, keep up the good work, enjoy the reviews
@@paulmcgowan4510I think the thickness changed.
Is there anywhere else to purchase this other than Aliexpress?
sugesswatch.com or seesternwatches.com are the official sugess/seestern stores. but honestly, especially right now, the price is lower on aliexpress and they are all the same stores. you actually get more protection with Aliexpress. but either of those sites above are OK to order from as well.
Awesome 😎👍👍👍
Insane watch for 300$, I didn't even think it was possible, not even for china.
I have this same movement in a rep that I bought in 2009. Still works fine and keeps good time.
It’s what the Daytona could have been were it produced by another major brand.
you know what would be nice for a V4 of these (or just as an addition to the V3)? a matter colourway (at least for the black, the other 2 i don't think need it), i.e. matte ceramic bezel, and flat white hands (with more lume?) and 3 printed or brushed indices :)
But a great review just the same 😊
Sorry but I don't see how is this 5 times more expensive than Pagani Design Chronograph? I get it, it's mechanical... and ...?🤔
Better finishing, better Lume, better bezel insert, better bracelet and clasp, better execution with the thinner rehaut.
Don't get me wrong, the Pagani is great, but this is just next level. It looks like a much more expensive watch.
Id get a San Martin.
I have been toying with getting this, then I saw the Sugess printed round the rehaut and now I'm not. That is a massive turn-off for me.. And, no, I don't like it on the originals, either.
Chinese junk, Chinese stole Rolex Daytona and by buying Sugess watches people pretending to be rich. Don’t buy counterfeit watches, save money and buy real thing.
That is pure BS. Rolex patents ran out on movements over 50 years old. These are copies and only to a point, not counterfeit. You are ignorant.
Still a Rolex copy, so big no 👇🏻
Homage, not a copy, it's a homage. Rolex is overpriced crap.
I couldn't fathom spending $20K on the Rolex when this is so good for $400. But I get it, HOMAGES aren't for everyone. This channel probably isn't for you, then....lol
@@frankdefranco9436 yeah, sure, Rolex is crap but everybody copies them 😂😉
@@NattyKing1 Crap because they are overpriced. Otherwise they are great watches. I'd pay $2000 for the original but not even a cent more. Homage watch market is booming. It's the next big thing in the watch market.
@@NattyKing1
Rolex isn’t crap but they are overpriced.
361 usd is a lot for sure . i am sure that when this first came out on the market, it's price was about 200 usd. when it's seller realised that many people were buying that, the increased the price . most likely , in a few months it will sell for 400 or 450 usd . for a daytona look alike ...
