I would just like to say I am a recent viewer of your channel and I really appreciate what you guys do. I used to be an athiest who bought heavily into the stigma of the Latter Day Saint movement being ridiculous, but your videos supply us with the other side that we don't get to see often, and it has really opened my eyes. Thanks to your videos, I have recently began pursuing converting to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! God bless you all! :)
I'm glad you've been able to see both sides. I grew up in the church, so the only side I saw of atheists was rediculous. I think I'm seeing a more balanced view as well now. My experience in the church hasn't been great, but any church is going to have all kinds. Seeing both sides, and doing what you think is best for you is commendable. And this is my favorite church friendly channel. I like it a lot.
I grew up in the Church, then fell away and became more agnostic. I was never against the Church or anything, I just didn’t really believe it. I started coming back when I was 22 because friends nagged me to. I’m almost 26 now, and while I don’t regret my life because of everything I learned, I also wish I had God’s blessings through my entire life. Remember to pray about these important experiences and how you should proceed. It’s a special connection between you and God.
“Is there any proof” “Yes, we have eye witnesses of the Book of Mormon origins and we have found similar books” “You can’t trust eye witnesses” “People also tried to steal it, if it’s not real why would people try to steal them?” “You can’t trust everything” “So why would I trust you?” Is an actual conversation I had.
If I'm recalling correctly, the ones intent on stealing them were old treasure seeking buddies who were mad that Joseph was not sharing the treasure. And weren't most of the witnesses treasure seekers as well? This was from Rough Stone Rolling from Richard Bushman. Hopefully I'm not remembering wrong. But alas, does that make the plates more or less believable? Growing up I only heard the faith promoting versions of things and so I pretty much had to believe. But now I see that honest people can believe either way.
She did not state that the man was Moroni. She stated that he was a nephite. Her grandson stated that the man was Moroni. You can read about this event in the Joseph Smith papers.
Great video. I know The Book of Mormon is true because of The Holy Ghost but there is also evidence. The Holy Ghost isn't telling me things contrary to evidence. Those who are claiming it is false have some explaining to do. We have no explaining to do.
If you're asking for explanation I'm sure there will be many happy to sway you one way or the other. But it sounds like your mind is made up for now, so best wishes for you. Thanks for sharing your testimony.
Your Hypothesis: The existence of a stack of metal plates could prove Joseph Smith's account was correct. My Hypothesis: The existence of a stack of metal plates could prove that Joseph Smith made the himself. Does anything from the official or unofficial witness descriptions of the plates help us determine which hypothesis is closer to the truth?

According to church history, a lot of people saw the plates and left later anyways, but never denied seeing the golden plates. The cool part is that you don't have to look back then, president Nelson said we could have these same experiences.
