Thank you SO MUCH for going step by step in letting us know the protocols NOW. Let's see how it is in a couple of months. My favorite is the new muster drill regs. I can't wait until the U.S. opens! (Not just to Alaska)....
Before Covid, we loved that the crew served in the buffet on our Holland America cruises. Helped with preventing the previous big cruise scourge, Noro. So hoping that stays. Thanks for all the info guys!
That what service used to be about on cruise liners. I think it will be better for everyone to be served by staff and should prevent all kinds of virus transmission. It probably will not slow service too much as there will be more crew members in the serving areas than previously
If you think cruising will the the same as it was prior to pandemic, you will be disappointed. Get ready to be used to new ways of doing things and adapt
Great informative video I think you really captured everything we encountered on board. Interestingly we were temperature checked multiple times a day in the dinning room and buffet.
Thanks for your new video on MSC. There is a big problem ahead when a ship of multiple thousands capacity is almost full. You only had one thousand and the check in will be overwhelming with a few thousand. I expect there will be problems. Not from COVID but passengers fighting for their space and chairs.
Hi guys excellent video again just wanted to point out the first statement “if you are fully vaccinated you do not need a test” …… we have been told by Viking we are required to take a PCR test (provided by Viking) before we board and they are offering PCR tests every morning on the 7 day cruise. We also need to provide proof of vax before boarding via the NHS app. Just feedback defo not criticism!!!
Wonderful video, you addressed all the questions I'd had in my head. It sounds like it's been very successful. I hope all future seacation cruises in the UK go as well as this one. As you mentioned, it'll be interesting to see how things will be when passenger numbers increase.
Awesome info, thank you and so glad you had a great cruise. I had no idea that cruise insurance was required (or at least can be) so I went ahead and picked some up for the July Carnival Cruise (Mardi Gras).
What a lovely ship you were on there and I hope you enjoyed your cruise though and your video gives a look in on what cruising is going to look like for the time being till things change more whenever that would be. I booked a shore excursion with Royal Caribbean for the Tasmania cruise in February and I got it for a good price too for what is scheduled for the excursion there
Cruising with MSC for the first time in October so I'm very grateful for your reviews 🙏 excited to see what's next and hopefully MSC changes the port excursions rule later down the road 🤞🤞
Thank you for verifying a couple of concerns about getting onboard. We are due to sail in July and have been trying to contact MSC for the exact info they require if you are vaccinated but unfortunately I have still not got through to CS. Your information is very helpful so thank you.
@@SandyToes75 (LAUGHING) im a fitness instructor and up until last year (currently 67 years old) I taught 10 spin classes a week - so 12 flights from bottom to top was a great challenge several times a day - most days at the pool deck and most times situated on the 8-10 floors. happy cruising (someday soon!)
@@PAWS0810- Glad to see someone else that liked the stairs. I never came home with added pounds and always said it was because of the “going up” that kept the pounds off. Yes, it would be nice to meet up on the lido someday soon. I miss cruising. My fingers are crossed for the end of July.
I don't cruise, but I do travel. You guys are so great to do this with so much detail! I really pray for the days when we could just all be together again. Thank you❣️
I am so jealous you are cruising can’t wait for mine in November. It’s all so fluid and changing daily it’s hard to keep up. Thanks for the current what it’s like updates.
Is it from Miami you are leaving in July? Asking to see if you know if they are limiting the amount of passengers on board. I want to book a Meraviglia in July too but I am a little wary.
@@jezabelpagan4797 Yes from Miami in July, I assume they are limiting because of the social distancing guidelines, essentially half of the chairs can't be used, so I'm not too worry about it.
It took us 2 1/2 hours to board - in addition to your comments about 4 stations after we finally got inside we then had to come back outside again and go to a different building because, though we had upgraded with them - they hadn't upgraded their records!!! Very amateurish from start to finish. We nearly said sod it and turned around to go home but stuck with it. Once onboard EVERYTHING was superb - room, food, staff, facilities - everything was great! Would we go MSC again? No - unless they sort out boarding problems and we would not upgrade again!! Saw you both working hard onboard - and many thanks for your EXCELLENT vlogs! Best Wishes Gerry Hobbs
Quite surprised a few temperature checks were missed and no covid test at the end as scheduled, both of which you mentioned in the video. Top marks for pointing that out and not just sugar coating the cruising experience. Check in didn't sound or look great either. Still not convinced I'll be making a booking anytime soon based on that. The ship looked lovely but I can't help thinking if protocols are not monitored and adhered to what else is going unchecked behind the scenes. Bit concerning that. I'll be watching with interest your reviews and experiences on Princess who I feel are leading the way with passenger technology. Good work chaps, glad you had a great time. 👍
So happy to see you both, enjoying on time onboard. It was an amazing experience, after having to put life, travel and just being normal....gurss this will be normal for awhile . Another interesting and informative vlog from 2 great guys! Looking forward to watching the next installment!
P&O Australia did away with buffet years ago and they had a huge reduction in any forms of out breaks. It is surprising to see what one change can do for the health of a ship.
So happy to see you both on a ship again Great safety protocols in place to give cruisers the confidence to cruise again Thank you both for sharing this Great informative vlog Anne & David (Dublin) XX
I think the cruse ship only excursions is disappointing, especially since we love just going to the beach and relaxing, which has been free unless we're doing an all inclusive. I'm still excited to cruise and would really like to see what they offer for excursions in the near future!
Really enjoy your videos you always seem to be having fun. My wife and I are seriously thinking of booking a cruise for next year but are not 100% sure we'd like it as we are worried about sea sickness, any advice?
really love following your videos and particularly as were going on this cruise from liverpool on the 29th June! Cant wait. Totally understand the rationale for not being able to wander off on our own ashore- once on board everyone is tested and who knows who youll mix with ashore! too risky. not entirely excited about the food after watching your first night video that risotto looked scary! Bit nattered about increase in capacity and hope they'll cope! all very exciting though! thanks guys
Saw that coming a mile away MSC has signed up to the European Union Sail Safe Protocols It clearly states that Evacuation to be carried out at the cruise lines expense And now MSC are insisting on travel insurance that includes Evacuation cover
You guy's wide aperture lens game is on point! Love the Bokeh on this, especially at 3:40. What are you guys shooting with? That almost looks like a 1.4 or 1.8 at least.
He said on MSC you’re allowed to take your mask off outside but not push the sun beds closer to maintain social distancing. On other cruise lines though you may be required to keep your masks on at all times including in the restaurants unless you’re eating. So if you’re just relaxing in a dining area but not eating or drinking you can’t take your mask off.
@@chriswilliams6568 don't forget the social distancing and enhanced sanitizing.... those are what have helped lessen the spread of colds/flu. And regarding "it works".... the covid molecule is MUCH smaller than ANY mask material, other than N95s. Not a secret.
Hi new subscriber 😀 really informative and helpful video. ..It gives a good idea on what is actually happening with cruising at the moment!. Thanks very much for sharing ..
Please can you help me with a question regarding the covid insurance. I've booked a Royal Caribbean cruise in August and I've got cruise insurance from their preferred partner, Holiday Extras. When applying for the cover online, it says it covers Covid as standard but the policy certificate doesn't mention Covid-19 anywhere. Was this the same for you? Were they looking for any particular insurance wording?
Hi there, any footage or explanation of how the Buffet works exactly? Do you sit at your table and tell them what you want? Is there a menu or do you have to go wonder the buffet and make a mental note of what you want? etc. etc. Not sure how this works now?
To stop your glasses from fogging up try OptiPlus Anti Fog Lens Wipes, they sell a box of 30 in Specsavers or Vision Express for £5 and yes they really work. I have tried them and no misting up.
Question: I prefer to go phone-free on cruises as I like to escape from the outside world. It seems you have to have your phone on here, to scan menus etc.... but can you at least keep them on flight mode so you don't receive texts and emails? If so, how does the scanning work (sorry, technical question here?) Thanks!
with an iPhone, you don’t need to download any apps to scan a qr code! just open your phone’s camera, and hover it over the qr code. a notification will pop up; tap it and that will take you right to the website!
So you can keep your phone on plane mode, you have to connect to the ship wifi, but do not have to pay for an internet package, this will allow the msc app to work, where you can acess the menus, or you can scan the QR code which downloads the menu to your phone. You can go without a phone and they will give you a paper menu which is single use and will be thrown away when you are finished with it.
