This video saved me 54.00 dollars, that’s what the dealer wanted to change it when he was changing my oil that I received when I brought the car. Great job and thank you.
Thank you for this! However I am seeing this video after replacing the filter & now have a loud sound coming from it. I didn't use anything to keep debris out of the fan as I didn't know I needed to.. Do I now have to pull out the blower fan to troubleshoot that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You are right. Sounds like you got debris in the blower motor. On some models you can kind of reach your fingers in there & reach the stuff. Make sure the blower is not on or have a chance of coming on. Disconnect the battery if you have to. Another option is to remove the filter & use compressed air to blow out whatever is in there. If all else fails pull the blower motor.
Biggest dealership scam is these filters, along with "key fob dead battery" I was getting an oil change. All the people in the waiting room had "dead key fob batteries" Next time I arrived for an appointment, a key fob warning quickly flashed on my dash board. What a racket.
Our dealer wanted $75 to replace the filter which was kind of funny since they already took the old one out and it was really no more work to put a new one in than it was to put the old one back in. Thanks.
Last fall, I took my car in for an oil change. I knew I needed new wiper blades, but didn't mention it right away. The sales manager came out and said, "I notice your wiper blades don't work well and need to be replaced." I said, "yes, I was going to ask about that." I was charged for "customer reports problem with wiper blades" and it cost about $80 for that. Never again!!!

All instructional videos should be more like this.👍
Not hard at all and saves $$ over what it cost to have it done.

This is so much easier than my last car!! Perfect demo!
Thank you. Glad I could help.
Instead of laminated sheet you can cut the top off the box the new filter came in.
