My Baja 160 and Checkmate 2100 had some similar features. And the Stingray boats uses reverse chines.

So did you guys buy a Ranger and take all their designs but add a little twist to make them "Vexus" designs? Seems like they're built almost the exact same way Ranger boats are built.

No rodholder rail or accessory rail mounting system. That should come standard in any manufacturers boat. Less drilling for the new owner. I don’t know why any manufacturer thinks that the side storage in the back of the boat is a good idea. It makes it harder for older people to net fish because they don’t have the ability to step up on the locker and if they’re shorter they can not see to the side and down the boat for netting fish. Older people generally have the money to buy these boats and I know several that we will not buy one if it has the storage compartments like this, so they buy Skeeters. The storage compartment take up space and there is never any room for their stuff inside the boat and it makes for no room moving around. Flip up seats in the back, so you can eliminate the two rear seats and then you don’t have to try to move around them. They are placed so tight, you normally only have one seat position that they can be in so when you cannot rotate the seat because it bumps into the lockers, you can’t turn around, face the other direction and watch your rod tips while trolling I am sure it’s a wonderful, 2 person tournament fishering boat, but there are manymore people who do not fish tournaments but fish big water and want a 20 foot boat without all those storage compartments. If you want to fish with other people you will not put all your tackle in the storage compartments because you can not grab your gear and go without having to crawl into the boat and pull all your Plano boxes out and then put them in a tacklebox. There are countless people who walk away from that style of boat simply because of those rear storage Compartments. Another thing is the bait well that you have to get on your hands and knees to open the door. That should be raised to a position the top of the deck. It saves on a persons back hand old people can’t get up off their knees along with most of the people that are so fat they should be exercising instead of fishing.

It's not even an age thing. The horseshoe layout is terrible, they should be removable pods like Lund fiberglass. How on earth Vexus didn't copy this is beyond me. For 99.9% of outings, having 0 or 1 pods in would be enough.

@@NytronX i have a 19' ranger fisherman. its a great two man fishing boat. anymore, there is no room for a third or fourth person. you can not even rotate the seats in the back because the fit is so tight. I didnt realize it until I had it for awhile and wanted to bring a few more people for recreational fishing and not tournament fishing. Some people love them, but i will never own another boat with that storage layout.

Also, Ranger's new FS Pro series have the option without the horseshoe layout now (e.g. 620cFS Pro and 621cFS Pro). Lund's design is by far the best.
