My friend was on this flight. He just got back today. He was still shaking from the incident when I picked him up at the airport. He told me that video you guys saw was even taken after all the whole commotion. The real incident wasn’t captured. The way he explained it to me was like, as if someone lifted the plane up and just let it fall down by itself. He said the plane was falling at the speed of sound. Then all of a sudden, about 15mins before crashing, the plane regained its altitude. He said the pilot told them that the airplane lost its gps. Unlike a car, when you lose your gps due to network failure, you can maneuver by asking questions. An airline is different. Is like flying blindfolded with no sense of direction. So the airplane was confused and the next thing will be heading down to crash. He said it was a miracle that they all made it alive.
Very adept team of journalists, engaging Professor Obiora Okonkwo with very incisive questions about the incident over the weekend with United Airlines. Impressive and Thanks to the Professor for clarification of the matters of concerns to every traveler. Dr Obiora Okonkwo is truly a teachers man. Very interesting panel of discussion. Cheers !
USA United Airlines planes are very old and the fact is that their planes are exhibiting critical signs of ageing fatigue. Most of their planes should have already been retired. Based on information online, they've ordered over 700 new aircrafts. This is good news!!! United Airlines had so many serious technical incidents in recent years that the USA FAA ordered a safety audit review. Although the FAA concluded that United Airlines planes are safe, I personally don't believe them. Why? Because United Airlines keeps having serious incidents. If a Nigerian Airline had as many incidents as United Airlines, the US FAA wouldn't allow them to fly to the US. Why did the US deny Air Peace from flying to the US even though the airline has a good flight safety record? Could it be that they wanted US Airlines to have monopoly on the US direct routes to Nigeria? I don't know, I'm just asking. Yet Nigeria allowed United Airlines with a colorful litany of ongoing air incidents to start flying to Nigeria. Nigerians should check the safety records of an airline before flying it. I am so grateful to GOD that the United Airlines Nigeria flight incident didn't result in fatalities. Glory to GOD, in JESUS' Mighty Name, Amen 🙏.
@ogidz-xix By placing citizens of another nation in unsafe flights? No, that's not how trade wars are won. It's the irresponsibility of leaders of a nation to allow its own citizens to be placed in danger.

Coming to praise Arise TV as the No. 1 aviation TV station, whatever the heck that means. People that can't do proper reporting.
Sorry this is not directly related to United Airlines incident but the problem we in Africa have in pronouncing our local names (person, city, things) correctly. Abuja is derived from Hausa language calling light skin Abubakar or Abu 'red Abu' and the word 'Ja' should be pronounced as in Hausa word red and not 'ja' as Yoruba word fight as the guest pronounced it. If we can't get correct pronouncement for our indigenous language how do we expect foreigners to get it correctly? If care is not taken the foreign media might dictate to us how to pronounce our words. Anyway thanks to the guest for providing insight to the incident.
