Hey guys. Unfortunately the ATP media erroneously issued a copyright strike on this video and BLOCKED IT for most of the night. This is absurd given that the entire video is owned by me. Not one second of it has any relation to the ATP. By doing so, they killed the momentum of the video so I’d appreciate if you guys could hit the like button when you watch it that would be awesome. I’m incredibly upset with this and I am hoping it will be resolved soon. Cheers

Wow, I agree this is absurd. As you get more successful on this channel and on the tour, I am sure there will be more headaches to deal with, but let's hope most of it is just challenges from tough opponents and dealing with travelling and not these kinds of nonsense :(

@MyTennisHQ - Karue, I would appreciate any quick thoughts you have on this. It seemed like once you figured out how to return his (second?) serve, in the 2nd/3rd of his service games, he lost the momentum and you were able to take control.

I love this point @ 10:48 , Karue up 5-3 and 30-all. Grinds until he gets a short ball in the middle. What I love about it is the decision-making right there. Playing in sketchy conditions, ball below the net, opponent is starting to struggle a bit. Instead of trying to approach to a corner and risk having the wind grab it, Karue rolls it right down the middle of the court, high-percentage and takes the net. Demin doesn’t have great options, sends the ball back with some air under it and Karue gets a volley winner. Great stuff.

    • @elchanclascocina

Loved this too. More than 95% of the times I see this situation, they don't go to the middle, even the best of the best. When he did I thought, man, Karue is tactically really really good.

extremely impressive the way you handled conditions and a talented opponent. you have this way of making every sequence look "safe" and high percentage even when you're really going for your shots. it looks like you're just floating out there, then I look at the other guy and he's running wind sprints along the baseline. Beautiful, workmanlike tennis that you make look "easy" even though it obviously is not.

Few observations: 1) Demin has a really good second kick serve, ball kicking up high and arching. But his serve technique is a bit unorthodox and looks tense and missing too many first serves. But when he makes it, it is strong and dangerous. 2) Demin hits the ball quite a bit late on his forehand. 3) He seems to be a bit more tense than necessary, burning lots of energy. 4) Karue has a more elegant, effortless style, his serve looks so fluid. 5) Karue is the more mature and complete player, which is understandable given he is 30 and Demin only 18.

Hey Karue, I really need to say THANK YOU for all your content. I've improved so much with the help of your videos and explanations, it's incredible. What's even more mind-blowing to me is that a few days ago I was able to finally fix the backhand of one of my students. He's been struggling with it for 2 years now and I just couldn't find the reason. Today I told him he should use his dominant hand on the backhand more (left hand because he's leftie) and suddenly his backhand is consistent and powerful..... it's just amazing. Again, thank you!!

How could Demin become a ITF junior No.1 when he didn't win any of the junior slams? Demin's highest ATP ranking is No.1151, while the 2023 French Open junior champion Dino Prizmic, US Open junior champion Joao Fonseca, Australian Open junior champion Alex Blockx, Wimbledon junior champion Henry Searle, reached ATP ranking 155, 343, 351, 868, respectively. Clearly those junior slam winners are far better than Demin, then and now. It seems that the ITF ranking is kind of messed up. The ITF also created something called "World Tennis Number", which is supposed to allow people to find competition with similar skill levels. But a USTA 3.5 player who wins consistently at the 3.5 level could have WTN similar to 4.5 players, which makes no sense. I suspect that the ITF ranking may have similar drawbacks, that it rewards consistent wins without properly account for the level of the opponents or the level of the tournaments.

Hi Karue.. is there a reason why u lift up your right leg slightly ( like a mini kickback) during your serve motion ?

Not to take anything away from Karue, but there is something wrong with this picture when the number one ranked junior in the world loses 4 and 2 in the first round of a 25K event

How is that taking anything away from Karue? If anything it is praising him more.

Also shows there are potential differences between juniors and ATP. Maybe the kid was also having an off day, it happens. Either way, talented no less and karue has worked and earned it every step. Kudos to both players!

bit of a rough start - solid performance overall.
i found his bh much stronger than his fh, shanked a lot on the fh and ran around his in my opinion stronger bh side a lot. although you could pressure him at his bh wing to open up the court in the end - well done

His forehand is a lot stronger than his backhand

consistent is difference from stronger, his forehead is much more of a weapon, nerves anything could have been the reason he wasn't able to perhaps dictate as much as he wanted

Love how Karue just keeps to himself when he wins points and doesn't do the whole annoying 'CMON' every point.

This is a fair fight age wise, a player at the start of his career vs. Karue around a typical end point for a career.

I’m not sure, somewhere where the court is fast and the balls stay low

  • @taylorzhou6745

Congrats, Yarsolav is a good junior. He seemed to be a bit impatient sometimes, trying to end the points earlier because you kept getting the balls back and pressuring him. His first serve percentage seemed low too, maybe the weather conditions were a factor.
