sorry to take so long to reply, but currently I am not hauling livestock at the moment. I am pulling a hopper bottom hauling grain and rock until the elog thing is fully figured out. I would suggest, if you do still want to haul livestock now, best way to get started is get a job with a farmer or a rancher who hauls their own livestock. If you are willing to work hard, and are willing to spend quite a bit of time away from home, yes, a hard working man can make a decent living. Notice I said decent living, you aren't going to become rich or anything, but you will make enough to support yourself and a family. Also, don't be picky about hauling just cows. Be willing to haul cows, sheep, and hogs. You will get more loads when you will haul any livestock and more loads, usually equals more money. But personally, until it is figured out if the elogs will apply to livestock haulers or not, I am going to stick to hauling grain and rock. Good luck!

Those trucks don't look as good as they use to. And the money for the headache and heartache is not there. Just a word of advice man.

Well that is a very broad subject so I will quickly cover some of the things I dislike. The overwhelming majority of people simply have no respect for what you are trying to do. You're simply holding someone up to get to walmarts. The laws governing trucking have gotten so crazy that the people enforcing them don't understand them. They call truckers an unskilled workforce. Yet we go through more testing and paperwork upkeep than a airplane pilot. It's the only job that I know of that you can be fined or jailed for working 15 mins of overtime and likewise are not payed any overtime. Setting in that seat over the years does affect your body big time. And still your considered lazy. Man I could go on and on for hours but I simply don't have the time. I'll say this in closing. At one time it might been a decent job. But that will never happen again.

Ok. But before I go some education is needed here. Cattle prods much like electric fences are used as a tool to help the farmer correct the behavior or control the animal from hurting its self or others. In some cases yes they are used incorrectly. But that is the person useing it at fault. To say all cattle prod are cruel simply is not true. The person in this video was useing this tool correctly. I simply do not understand someone such as yourself with "MANY YEARS" of expernce does not understand use and misuse of this tool. Perhaps you could do a video with your cattle showing us how you control their behavior. Thanks.

Cattle prod's are cruel to cattle. MOST packing plant's DON'T ALLOW this any more. they use paddles.
