I love how weird Nintendo was in its GameCube era.
I miss it honestly. It was such a unique time where they were willing to try so many different things.
@DuoStuff 100%. I still love what Nintendo is doing now with the Switch. But I think it does feel more corporate and has less charm than it used to.
Yeah, that's how I feel too. It sucks having Mario stuck in a box. I miss when we got stuff like this, or like Super Paper Mario. Just crazy out-there stuff for Mario.

I had this game actually.
The most difficult stage in the game is the equivalent of a 6/10 star difficulty from DDR.
And the funniest part is that I still have trouble with that!

This is the whole reason that my wife's copy/pad are still in the box despite my massive DDR addiction. Between this video and Jaiden's... might be worth getting the kids to try it.

The soundtrack for this game is genuinely one of the best Mario OSTs of all time; Destruction Dance, Always Shining, Starring Wario and Bowser's Castle are bangers which I love going back to. The dancing is also incredible, especially when it's Bowser and Waluigi!
For real though. The soundtrack has so many bangers that it's not even funny.

The Gamecube was Nintendo's wacky phase, the Wii got close but not far enough.
I think early Wii era was still just as whacky. (It's the time we got Super Paper Mario, which is by far the most out-there game in the series.) After that, however, they slowly started getting more bland.
The king has returned! I love how back in the early 2000s, it felt like Nintendo's ips had so much personality.
Yeah, they were doing a lot of interesting things with their IPs at the time, AND we were getting weird experimental new stuff like Pikmin and Chibi Robo as well.
I've always found Nintendo spin-offs exiting because you never really know what you're going to get untill you have it and manu are just that awsome even if they dont spawn a series
That was part of the fun of them before. They just did so many wild out-there concepts. Not all of them worked, but a surprising amount did.
Waluigi is technically the main villain of this game

Oh trust me, I already know. I actually really love Catherine Full Body. I just think it's funny that it's so funky in a freaking Mario game.

Oh snap good see a video by ya my dude! To me this felt like peak Nintendo that led into wii. I didn’t look at these games as weird myself honestly. I did like the crossover they did like nba street example you gave. Iirc they also put link in soul caliber and Mario in ssx on tour which I love!
Yeah, they were putting Mario into a lot of different sports games for some reason. It was a weird trend.

Trust me, I plan to do some 3DS stuff down the road. For right now I'm on a Gamecube binge, but I know for a fact that I want to cover Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon, Kid Icarus Uprising, NSMB2, and... Sticker Star, which I like a lot less.
Robobot might be interesting as well. I'll have to think about that one.
