It means mini internship , you will perform various procedures under the subject you r interested in . Yes the exam doest cost that much and additional cost is for 1-6 months clinical experience.

Maybe that match rate comes after clearing step 1 n 2 which not everyone can so maybe you're missing that part....

You will get money from USA government and you can’t work anywhere else in medicine but you could do other jobs
