Bro - you and I both are all about those First Inversion Chords (third in the bass)!
Your vids just keep getting better and better man! KEEP GOING!
Completely agree with Nathan.
I am a fan of both you and Forest channel. Please do an video about chord progressions with different inversion. Would love to hear the before and after different chord inversion.
Thanks Nate your a 🤴
Oh my goodness, this makes me cry!
Fantastic!
Maybe some (more) reverb for the Fiddle at the beginning ?
Anyways, super calm and nice.
Love from germany. 🙂
Sounds so GooD forest
Getting strong Craig Morgan vibes from this bro! Good job!
The power of an example - very helpful!

Awesome job Forrest. Sounds awesome
wow Forest! Nailed it! sounds great.
Sounds so good!! Excellent work!! Much love Forest!!
Wow, what a cool transformation- you’re incredibly skilled. I would listen to this on the radio for sure. Wondering if Usher has heard this version 😊 I bet he’d love it, too.
Your production is amazing. Everything is so good...
Thank you for listening!
You’re killing it bro!
As are you sir.
Awesome production skills on this one. You are a badass on them drum keys too. What an incredible vocal track by Usher as well.... Pure Gold.
His isolated vocal on this is insane.
Thanks chief! Good hearing you change up the chords from minor to major - I did that to a song I co-wrote with two other people and played it live in the more major fashion and it really worked and made it less dark. I felt guilty because I didn’t run it by the co-writers. But it was only chords changed.
Sometimes you have to make that call as a producer. You never know until you try! Thanks for your comment and continued support.
This video has kinda inspired me to start producing again. 👊🏽
Awesome! Love that.
Loved this! I love how production can change so much. This was a really beautiful interpretation!
From Chattanooga TN artist / producer learning the ropes . I really enjoy your content Forest .
Love your vids man!! So educational and inspirational! Keep up the great work😁
Thanks for being here!
Man - this is so good! Final product was a vibe for sure, and so cool to see how you brought it all together. Love the addition of the fiddle!
Flip the equation next time. Take a country tune and make it R&B?!?!
I vote for “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bonnie Rait. Give it that “Anytime” vibe from B McKnight.
Yes love this
@@forestwhitehead can you do more video like this
Phenomenal man
Dude your finger drumming performances are awesome
This looks fun as hell and a great way to get some practice in.
I learned track layering by remaking songs and switching the instruments. Taught me A LOT.
Fascinating
great song, my stile ;)
Check out the Rich Redmond Drums from Nashville Sampling Co.
Incredible samples and Kontakt Instruemnt
Ooooo should’ve used those on the Aldean track build… thanks dude!
Somebody should definitely cut this version!!! Thats a #1 on the country charts if I've ever heard one!
You already know I agree
That acoustic guitar sounds fantastic! What model is it?

Amazing
Is it ok to say 'i like it better?
man it's awesome..great job forest...and i love the snare (6:07)..it's so fat and tight and punchy...wanna know how you design it and the effects you use..
some secret trickery going on there :) just doubling the midi layer and triggering my own sample through impact to bring more to the chorus (6:55-7:08) you can hear the layer build on the snare if you listen close.
@@forestwhitehead thanks😇👍..yeah can hear the difference..
Omg I wish I had this instrumental!!!! Can I buy it somewhere?
I like it🔥
What Daw are you using?
Studio One 5!
❤
5:29 when it begins
Thanks, Forest. Your videos are very interesting as always :)
If I can propose anything maybe it would be good to consider doing some series like one song but done in different genres, including very far from original? :)
And a little bit more details about the process if I may ask . I am very curious how you extract vocal alone from original song and if you need to talk to artist for an approve or remixing is allowed? Or maybe there is a source where such single tracks are available for download and permitted to remix?
I find the isolated vocal on UA-cam. I line it up with editing to a click track. Find the key. Upload the track and demonetize the videos because I do not own the rights to the vocals. Doesn’t look like UA-cam has flagged this one yet but I assume they will. Yes all the tracks will be available or my production students to download and learn from.
Hi Can I ask. What software do you use to record
Some Producers when they do this, the Chord arrangement just doesn't match the Vocal chords. This is an example of following what the singer is singing, and then just building around that.
Dope💩
not a fan of Usher at all. He is typical. Not a fan of new, obviously over produced country like "Burning it down" Aldean. But your production on this is great but I would never listen to Usher. Thank you, Forest, for the help you are putting out there.
I don’t think you realize his impact on music when this was released in 2001 nor how much talent he actually had. He could write, sing and dance…each at a professional level.
Now, the production killed him for me, and a lot of country right now makes T Swift seem underproduced lol.
I remember when Luke Bryan’s ‘Tailgates & Tanlines’ came out and people thought that was selling out. Aside from a few tracks, that album is country af compared to now.
