@Eddie Bax I'm at university for free, my internet is cheap af and hella fast and i get free, good quality healthcare. It's actually quite good considering the country I live in was under the Iron Curtain for 50 or so years.
On top of the irony that the EXACT same amendment (the 14th) was originally proposed as a Reconstruction Amendment to ensure that Black people are treated with full rights as persons after the Civil War. When Southern states' objections to ratify were unsuccessful, corporate lawyers flooded the dockets of the Supreme Court to bring several cases to repurpose that amendment for use on corporations. That meant the court then only had time to hear the corporate cases, which far outnumbered the cases brought by formerly enslaved people. I think the joke at 14:00 is a reference to that.
Can you back that up? I doubt it. It makes more sense that a lack of opportunity and lack of income mobility would anger people more, and guess what you get with socialism?

You need to have lived here for several years depending on your permit, successfully finish a test with questions about the country, know at least one of our languages well enough, and so on. Living conditions are very expensive but income is also significantly higher than in other countries. It's not that simple to just 1:1 copy the index to other countries. As for your xenophobic claim, Switzerland undeniably has issues - like any other country. Our largest party 'Schweizerische Volkspartei' (SVP) likes to pour oil into the fire. The world as a whole has become more intolerant due to the rise of people like Trump, Orban, Erdogan, Lukashenko, Putin, you name it. Compared to the US for example that has a systemic racism problem or countries where you have to fear prosecution for being homosexual etc. we are one of the more tolerant and open-minded countries. TLDR: Yes, Switzerland has issues but we are addressing them and hopefully improve upon the situation. While there certainly are xenophobic elements, the vast majority of citizens is not and citizenship is available even if you are not very wealthy or very educated.

@@michaeldromes3948 much better than our US presidents who feel they have all the power in the world
Daily show has a really great team on both sides of the camera
29:30 look how happy she is about it, warms my heart! 😂❤️👏🏻
How do you call a well educated person on american soil?
A tourist
Ok, I'm out...
Many thanks to TDS team
Happy new year, from Paris
Happy new year i need to make friends please so 2021 i can come visit hello out there from NYC i need a new life & new dream new appreciation of life
ngl, a tourist is smarter than a lot of the nation
Calling a tourist "well educated" is an oxymoron
@@carlinemoise5945 I am from NYC.... Living in Germany for the past 8 years.
@@Boobalopbop : hi how are u how it is thanks for the response I wish to travel 😊 & visit Germany never been nice to chat with you let's stay in touch
This is why i like Daily Show. Satirical and educational.
How many muricans know the difference between swizerland & sweden?
NONE on my watch!
1st they ask if I am Russian. Then they keep asking if it was Sweden i was from. Then they say I have no humor....
@P J i mean, not all white people have the same culture :p
@P J What?
I do, because I like world history lol
That's easy, the Swedes have the best-looking women...
Education, education and education for all Americans! Dumb laws make people dumb. Europe makes higher education accessible to everyone.
@Eddie Bax I'm at university for free, my internet is cheap af and hella fast and i get free, good quality healthcare. It's actually quite good considering the country I live in was under the Iron Curtain for 50 or so years.
"Thor" was a close shot, Mikko is Finnish. Close enough! :D
"-Dress like their divorced dads made their Halloween costumes". 😆 🤣 😂 😆
Using the same defense that native Americans been saying that “nature is living” how is that for irony ?
not so bad
On top of the irony that the EXACT same amendment (the 14th) was originally proposed as a Reconstruction Amendment to ensure that Black people are treated with full rights as persons after the Civil War. When Southern states' objections to ratify were unsuccessful, corporate lawyers flooded the dockets of the Supreme Court to bring several cases to repurpose that amendment for use on corporations. That meant the court then only had time to hear the corporate cases, which far outnumbered the cases brought by formerly enslaved people. I think the joke at 14:00 is a reference to that.
Michael is consistently funny. Comedy Central should give him his own show.
Happy Kwanza to Trevor and his team ❤️
Mikko Leinonen is Finnish name through and through 😂😂😂 how’d he end up in Switzerland😅
By car, train or plane I presume...
Train, most likely.
Micheal Kosta for president
I think this also speaks about more equal society. Big income differences feed violence.
Can you back that up? I doubt it. It makes more sense that a lack of opportunity and lack of income mobility would anger people more, and guess what you get with socialism?
@@bobleglob162 I agree that opportunity to move up In the income ladder is important. Here In Finland we have that and we have social democracy. We also have relatively low income differences compared To America. Here, for example, the school system gives everybody a change To make it In life. We also have safetynets incase of disease or other misfortune.
Mr. Kosta is very talented and so funny!
Yes. I'm laughing and crying. Unfortunately, I'm not laughing so hard its making my eye's water.
Nicely done.
Kosta: ok Thor...
I'm Dyin 😂😭😂😭 this guy is funny.
I love you Michael Kosta. You truly are too funny. Keep it up.
I knew I should have moved to Switzerland!
not gonna let you in unless you're v rich or v educated, so :------------------)
@progamer yeet yeet and @Markas Muller, it sounds like you two are trying to discourage me because I'm Black!? Is that what it is? Besides, I was making a JOKE! Goofy and Weird smh 🤦🏾♀️
@Markus Müller ye, the blackness is not gonna help, switzerland is racist af.
@Markus Müller Switzerland has a number of conditions to be met before you can be a Swiss citizen. It's not easy and it shouldn't be.
Sophisticated pocket knives and almost zero stabbing incidents 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hi everyone! I hope you stay safe, have a nice day, and enjoy the holiday season! God bless you!
I love the former President of Swiss; "That's your problem". Brilliant!
16:54 best way to bring up you've only got one hand, didn't notice till then

The law Changed with the Time ,🤔 sounds and looks like good advice
This is GLORIOUS!!
Switzerland 🇨🇭 has had a female President for many years. I do believe most women have good common sense. (Except for the MAGA women, of course) 😊 😃 😺 😄
Hey what about Germany. Angela Merkel rules for 16 years ( yeah she won't candidates for 2021 elections )
@@aytestarose8903 She will be missed by many. She is such a "common- snse, matter- of- fact" person.

Love the Daily Show squad. Have a Happy New Year people!
"Can I wear socks with sandals?" "You probably better not." lol

"It turns out there are a _lot_ of nightmare scenarios if a clear winner doesn't emerge."
I know the Trump campaign would _never_ have tolerated this kind of legalistic wrangling from the _Clinton_ campaign in 2016 even though _she_ was preferred by the Popular Vote.
Love this. Once I wrapped my head around conferring identity on vital resources, it made absolute sense
As funny as Michael Kosta is, it is kind of frightening that his act is someone in reality. 😶 Seen too many dumb people say those things in earnest.
Micheal Kosta is my celebrity crush😁
United's American 💜 My favorite description lol
Everything we want ( we the people, not the crazies) is attainable and other countries have perfected it. How do we not learn from other countries 🤦🏼♀️
Richest country in the world and ass backwards!
Michael Kosta makes me happy!!!
"American Wet Dream" tell me about it.
Apparently, Switzerland doesn't just have an abundance of guns; they have an abundance of hunks.
Guns, beer, hot guys...chocolate? All mixing responsibly? I didn't realize Switzerland was Heaven.

Dead ☠🤣
Michael Kosta, he is crazy .. funny 💟🤪😀
I have to share this!
Ok so I’m thinking this guy is the political version of Daniel Tosh.
I was surprised when Jordan Klepper left and Michael Kosta took over. Now I know it is a very wise investment. Now with Jordan back, the mocking has gone way way way up like it should. Kosta has definitely grown upon me.
Training, training, training and respect to others.

Finnish descent, probably Swiss citizen. What's the deal?
