AEG push along Edward looks nice, but man, the chassis could have been a bit better if he was running and pushing smoothly. Overall, it's a really nice model, awesome wheel configuration, and in some ways, it's better than the original.
I have a way to fix this . Chop the tender buffers off and sand the bottom of the engine chassis . Fixed both issues . Oh and paint them buffers black whilst at it .
For the curves thing, it’s not made to use *those* radius turns, as those are the original smaller ones from Trackmaster Revolution. That type wasn’t rereleased for Motorized (Except for the sets they were used in were rereleased), they were replaced with a standardized new radius curve that is wider. So I wouldn’t call the buffer bashing thing a huge issue. Okay, it’s weird how Gordon can make it past with his wider buffers, but if they don’t collide on the current track then it’s not a huge matter. You could go onto the Mattel help store thing to report this faulty design.
Honestly, (no offense to you @RailwayGWR) I wouldn’t really care if Edward goes slow, Edward is a really nice push along and goodly detailed. And you can use the tracks that were made in the Super Station Set.
If you cut into it, and super glue the axle to the red clips then that should solve the issue. Because if how the wheels are on the axle they'd still be able to move freely.

I also found Edward abandoned in a parking lot with no tender in sight, so I can't say anything about the rear buffers acting with the tender's front buffers.
Yeah, Mattel really did give us the middle finger when it came to Edward. Like seriously, why did they do that?!?! For all those Mattel fans who love the push along all engines go engines and especially who love Edward, I'm sorry aesthetic wise he's awesome, but functionally, it's bad I'm going to be honest and say this I don't know the hell Edward and Henry did to Mattel to make Mattel hate them and do this to them as a message Mattel is just a big mean bully to both Edward and Henry who are really important Railway Series characters by the way. Henry is lucky because has a great new motorized engine and a push along that mechanically works perfectly But Edward I don't know what Mattel has against Edward because they're letting Henry off on a good hook but Edward I don't know what they're doing to him that made him deserve this. To put it all together I have the push long Edward I got him 3 months ago and at the time I thought it was the best one ever but then after seeing this I looked back at him and I was like what have they done to you Eddie?!?! To sum it up push along Edward is an amazing model aesthetic wise but functionally he's bad and this is so annoying to me because not only I can't play with him separately because he doesn't function right but this also means every time original or all engines go I'll have to grab a motorized engine couple him up and that engine whoever it is original or all engines go is just going to be dragging him the whole time like I know you're old Eddie but you're not that old that you can't function on your own I don't know why they made that decision it's truly a bad design and something that didn't need to happen and that needed to stay behind closed doors of Mattel's stupidest ideas never be brought up again. Bruno and Thomas adventures Merlin have same problem Obviously the base thing is for safety, sure we'd rather have a thick plastic base where it slightly catches on the rails than have a flat base that is easily broken and kids get hurt from the axles or something

They reused the smoke box from James and the cab roof from Gordon. The Henry is just a slightly modified Gordon.
At least they gave him the proper firebox and colored his square dome thingy gold to set him apart

That's one of the the only design flaws of Push Along Edward that bugs me alot because of the chassis design and I hated the way it rolls on the track
