Love the song arrangement! What through me off is you called it a G minor 9th chord, but it sounds and looks like an inverted Bb Major 7th . I did watch the rest. What made you call it the rootless Gmin9 versus just calling it a Bbmaj7?
maybe it's opening for the bass to play the root note and keeping it open. maybe seen more in Jazz arrangements...hmm
@@Dane_Riazer You got it. The piano player is to omit the G in their voicing as the bass player will play the G. Thanks for watching! STAY UP!!!
The chords deconstructed was really interesting. BRAVO. So u use a 2 3 6 progression in F major ? Is it a common progression in RNB ?
Yes, Yes. Its common for R&B, especially if you play the 7ths and extensions for the chords. Thanks for watching!!
Learned something new , about rootless. But why call it D minor rootless instead of F major ? Greetings from the Netherlands
I get you; they are spelled the same but have different functions. Its a D minor rootless to make the theory easier to understand as the bass player should play a D not an F. Thanks for your comment!!!! I appreciate your support.
@tcmuze ah , didnt thought about that. Just started a year ago with music , always enjoying your videos 🎹
@@ipainthouses3084 KeyFam!!! Thanks for watching. Welcome to the music journey.
Oh , and why play it in triplets ?
Triplets allow for more subtle swing feel.
