Shows you how to install which looked easy, ok great! But doesnt show you where that wire came from. When you drill a hole on the wall does wires magically appear from inside the wall?

I have one in my bedroom in my new apartment. The landlady said I have a built in night light. It has white vents on it and when I turn on the light switch on the wall it's bright. Will it run my bill up ?? I don't sleep without night light. I'm adult who's always been afraid of the Dark.
