The Bataleon Party Wave is a short, wide, soft flexing board with quite a lot of base shaping. It's great in powder, though it isn't the board I would choose for any other day.

Love the kit man!
Great review and video. Those conditions of snow in your video are exactly why I’m looking into the board.
Between Bataleon Party Wave or Capita Navigator. Which of the two would add to your quiver for those powder days in the trees? I ride big white as well
Thanks for the reviews as always.
you deserve 1000 times more views!
love the content mate!
Hi, really dig your videos! keep them up! Have you tired the 2023 reshaped party wave plus? i m in between the PW+ and the Korua transition finder let know what you think.
Thanks! I haven't been on the new Party Wave plus, but if it is anything like the one in this video, then there is a huge huge difference in ride between this and the Transition Finder. The Transition Finder is a bunch heavier, much stiffer and more responsive, but also less floaty and surfy in powder.
If you had to choose one between the party wave and the slush slasher, which would you prefer? Would be my second board used for pow/slush. I'm concerned I wont like riding 3BT but I've seen people say its fun once you get used to it
You can definitely get used to the 3bt pretty quickly. I would choose the Party Wave over the Slush Slasher - it has some camber so at least will feel a bit more stable and poppy, though both float really well when the snow is deep.
I bought the party wave + in the 151 at 80kg on sale, not sure if it's going to be too small but still going to give it a try. Probably should have got the 54 but will give it a go anyway.
Nah I think it will be fine, even at 151 it is so wide it will float like a big board anyway
@@SnowboardRobot Yeah was not super sure. I ride the warpig in a 54 but it feels a touch on the big side and it's only 270ww. Will be intersting to see.
Can you help me out, kind of trying to figure out when to get party boards? The volume shifted ones, i mean when do you pick that one compared to a "normal" board?
When you want a board that is more "fun" it's because it is easier to move around with the short length - though they are wider to give you the same surface area as a normal sized board. They are easier to move around in tight trees, float well in powder though the tradeoff is that they take a bit more work to get on an edge because they are so wide. Getting one with a tighter sidecut (smaller metre radius) means that on firm snow it will want to make quicker sharper turns, eg the Dancehaul will turn a lot quicker than the Party Wave.
Have you skied in whitewater? Thought it was big white near my cousins in Nelson, but unfortunately not :(
No but it looks really nice, very similar to Big White with the snow ghosts
Thinking about getting the party wave for a Japan season this coming winter. What do you think my. Only concern is riding piestes? I had the fun kink a few seasons ago on Japan and that seemed to do it all!
It will be great for deep days, there is just so much board to float on you can pretty much just bounce around. Riding on groomers won't be as fun, just because it will take a lot of work top get it onto the edge with the super wide width. Seeing you have ridden the Fun.Kink, it will just be like a big short wide version of that with a similar flex.
@@SnowboardRobot what if you’re not afraid of work?
@@SnowboardRobot PW+ became a little hard (flex6)
Is this board good on groomers or for Carving. I'm interested in getting a little wider board that is a good carving board and somewhat versatile. I already have a good pow deck. Also looking at the Twin Pig.
It wouldn't be my choice for carving, the sidecut is pretty big and I like smaller sidecuts for carving. I haven't been on the Twin Pig, but I would also look at the Salomon Dancehaul ua-cam.com/video/wINDGB1MJtQ/v-deo.html as an option - it is wider, very versatile and carves nicely.
How'd you like the twin?? What did you end up getting.. I've got the twin pig but looking to sell it after only 10 rides.. idn why just something not agreeing with me. I was looking at party and I've seen tonnes of reviews where they easy as carving on groomers due to the shape
Would this board be a good fit for intermediate snowboarders?
Yep, other than getting used to the 3bt, there won't be a big learning curve on a board like this.
61 days until biggie opening day!!!
How does it compare to the warpig?
These are very different types of boards, you can't really compare them meaningfully - it's super wide for a start, listen to Lachie here
That's a tough one - the Party Wave floats better, and it feels a bit more lively, though the Warpig turns better on hard snow. It depends on what you want the board to do, something like the Dancehaul sits in the middle of those two.
UA-cam cut your audio, copyright issue I guess?
Actually that might have just been a mistake on my end, forgetting to unmute it
@@SnowboardRobot Audio all good again. 👍
What's the song name @4:44?
It's Nbhd Nick - Forever and Ever (instrumental)
@@SnowboardRobot Thank you very much!
Sounds like you should have been on a larger size.
Bataleon recommend my weight and boot size to be this one, or the size below.
