  • The concept of lateral stability in buildings is perhaps one of the most critical parts of structural design.
    In this lesson we will explore different stability systems like bracing walls, cross bracings, truss-frames, portal frames, shear walls, cantilever block columns and understand how engineers employ these systems to ensure our buildings do not collapse.

    thanks for valuable lesson. as a student of last year bsc civil engineering which software you recommend me for rrc structure ,steel structure ,connection of steel members ,and foundation design. main focus will be to compare result of hand solution with sofware results .thanks

      I don't know where you live, but I would look for a software that offers a free student version. Autodesk Robot does that.

      @@bengthebrazilianengineerinAus thanks for reply im from pakistan but studying in gerece. i have autodesk access and bently. but want to know which softwares are using widly and most in eroupe

      @@structurbay I'm not sure about Europe. I'm based in Australia. From my experience, Autodesk and Bentley are used worldwide. Just use what you have access now. Different companies use different software. If you learn how to use one, it will be easier to learn any in the future. I've got some videos on the channel about software.
