  • In 2020 life was strange and people were gradually drifting apart. And we wanted to get closer, but the more we tried, the further it felt.
That’s how 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗲 was created: Romania’s first independent audio theatre with original shows on bold topics. The best part? It didn’t need ✨a place ✨ in order to bring people together. We all managed to sit at the same table, even if we were from different cities or even parts of the world.
But we wanted more. After two challenging years, as we finally stepped outside, we still heard stray dogs howling for a home. This contrasted sharply with our own fortune in having a home to return to. Inspired by this disparity, we created 𝗗𝗼𝗴𝘀. 𝘃𝘀. 𝗨𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘂𝘀, an initiative exploring our relationship with the city we call “home”. So we climbed the Palace of Parliament, to make our voices heard over the ruins of the late Uranus neighbourhood.
Then we remembered it’s in our blood to make fun of hard times. Laughing together is even better, but how can we ensure everyone enjoys it? Is it true that we cannot take a joke anymore nowadays? 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴?, our next project, is aiming to dismantle stereotypes and discrimination in Romanian comedy. Because we can all get along, even though we don’t laugh at the same jokes anymore.
And, after a good laugh, we looked back to our families who left home in the ‘90s in search of better days, hoping to fill a void that still lingers today. That’s how Bridges came to life: a way to connect with Romanians abroad, share their stories of love and hardship and understand the impact of their absence.
This is how 2024 will look for us. And we’re not stopping here. This is just the beginning of our goal to get closer to each other.
And we do. One project at the time.
