cheapaudioman has forced me to become a Wharfedale 5.1 home theater coniseur. Bought the 11.2 bookshelf pair when he reviewed, followed with 11.4 towers after another entertaining recap, and finished off with the cs a few weeks ago. The 11 series is fantastic.

What center you replaced? I am wondering if it is better if I keep my klipsch RP-400c as a center and don't switch it with the diamond one...

Replaced my elac front stage with the the Wharfedale setup.
You making spend money buddy, but it's good money. Got these cs when you did your 11.4 video. Ordered the 11.4 but never got them, someone screwed up. I ended up buying the 11.5. the bass monsters I call them and efficient high SPL at low wattage. You are on point with the center. Vocals are clear and ledgible. These are my 4th center and for a mere 199 money well spent. I love the sound. Also you didn't mention the center also comes with a port plug. So together with the 11.5 the sound is the system sounds well balanced. Smooth bass not over powering and mid and treble are dead on to my ears. Thanks again for spending my money. That's 4 things I purchased and so far you hit the mark on the other 2 as well. Earstudio and soundcore self equalizing bluetooth earbuds. Ohh can't forget Amazon HD and Patreon . So much fun.
It's brand new for $200 on Amazon, perfect for anyone getting into home theater on a budget, or just wants some more clarity when they're watching TV or gaming.

Yes good center makes such a difference and u don't have to increase or decrease the volume anymore and u can hear everything at any volume if u have the right center lol but mine a bit more expensive then this one
Bottom ported is somewhat unusual. I think that fact that it is a 2-way helps the vertical dispersion.
Is there any reason not to by a pair of these and use as my main 2 channel speakers?
Maybe not the exact perfect video to make this comment, but hey its about wharfedales so i think i am close enough🙂 I own and love a pair of diamond 225 (and a couple of other speakers of course) and I would REALLY love for you to compare my supernice "old" speakers to the more modern 11.2 and 12.2! Possible? I sure hope so..

This series is great. What’s with the bottom port?.... I guess no shelf placement... that’s a bit odd but I’d get over it with some improvising .🤟🔊

That air gap between the speaker and shelf.is an intentional part of the port system - many great speakers have used this style. One of the great DIY speakers of the 80’s proved how good a bottom port could be

I need help. Your review of various gear, led me to purchase Kef q150 , kef 250 center and svs 1000 pro. My weak link is my rear Sony cube speakers. they are mounted to brackets hanging from ceiling. what would be a good inexpensive up to 120 for the rears to replace the sonys? all help is appreciated
If you have the room and can make brackets, the Sony SS-CS5 is a great speaker in the $100 range. Or, try a pair of Dayton MK402X from Parts Express: www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-MK402X-4-2-Way-Bookshelf-Speaker-Pair-300-465. Parts Express has a couple speakers with mounting brackets, but be careful not to order 70-100 volt outdoor speakers with the brackets. Have fun with your search.

Just picked up one that was still available here to replace a tiny Pioneer S-CR24-QL center speaker, as both Pioneer and Onkyo have currently stopped producing anything. Hope the 11 CS will blend with my S-H240V-QL floor speakers. In case I want to replace those in the future, should I try to find Wharfedale 11.1 or 11.2 bookshelfs or could I pair the 11 CS with 12.2s?
I have had the 11.CS paired with the 12.2's for a while now and I am not getting on with it. I am loving the 12.2's but not so much the 11.CS. I am contemplating getting the 12.C to match the timbre. I would love to hear everyone else's experiences on this good or bad.
This Is one of those amazing things that nobody can have, it's like a very sexy nun. Desirable but unnattainable.

I know the video is older, but I identify with a lot of the opinion in this video. Whether it's the sound quality or the fact that I only wanted to have a 2.1 setup or that Netflix movies don't sound that good and you need to play the sound louder and louder until the spaceship explodes and the explosion wakes up the whole block of the street :D.
Anyway, I wanted to ask. I have this setup:

What kind of center speaker should I get?
Diamond 11 CC or Diamond 11 CS ?
I've heard the opinion that bigger is better but I still don't know.
The CS version is huge from what I can see from the video (I don't have a chance to see it live) and I'm still hesitating which version to get. The price difference is 50% but my WDs are not the highest version
What do you think?

I have with other speakers - and it’s GREAT!
Search on speakers known as LCRs (left, center, right)s - basically all the Same and built like centers (MTM - mid-tweeter-mid)
You stand up and/or wall mount left and right vertically and the center lays flat - many come with wall brackets that work both directions
And the can look very good too - and are better than in-walls - if you can’t cut holes, or the in walls would send sound to the space behind
Anyone still interested in this speaker. Nov 23, 2021 it's currently $99 on amazon for the white version. Speaker appears discontinued, so when they are gone, they are gone, but this is currently an excellent price for a great center channel

Hey Randy , lot of us have huge confusions on the audiofile words like warm, on the dark side etc... Can u tell tell the tone of the css audio criton to any budget speakers so we can audition them and kind of think about how the Critons really sound like..... I am from India and its kind of hard to audition speakers here .... Thank you.. Waiting for your reply..🙂🙂

I wonder why people don't just get three monitors with a single monitor in the center. Maybe the assumption is more than one person will be watching the TV and two woofers helps dispersion for several listener?
That could be it, I personally got a third KEF Q350 because it was less than $200 on eBay and not $600 like the Q650C. But it works GREAT. All three of my speakers being the same exact bookshelf makes for a completely seemless experience
Correct me if I’m wrong but the centre channel speakers are purpose built for dialogue frequency.
The working frequency range on my R&L bookshelf are different from my centre
After the sixth dac at no matter how cheap...I have lost all perspective on the word cheap. I am, however, freshly acquiescent to my girlfriend's purchase of $250 hand bags(eseses). As long as she doesn't tell my wife.
Now try 2x standard speakers for the center channel (or 2x vertical centers). You never go back to one center speaker. It´s a myth center speakers are good for .. center channels.
ha. Actually I was looking at this one and thought to myself... I bet if I turned these vertically they would be decent right and left speakers.
@@cheapaudioman Try it. I went from 1 center to 2 floor speakers for center... insane difference. People forget 75% or more of the movie sound comes from the center channel - and thats where everyone gimps out.

What center channel sounds like a “cellphone”? Because you basically described my Klipsch RP-250c, I upgraded to RP-450c and it has the same characteristics. I don’t know what to do other then change out my entire RP line but the rest of them sounds great! It’s just Klipsch center channels I’m having a problem with.
My RP 500c sounds fine as center with RP 600M as left and right. Maybe try crossing them at 90 rather than 80
I find that surprising because I found the RP-504C to be excellent.
It could be placement or configuration you need to fix !

Once you get a 3-way center SVS Prime, EmoC1+, AperionNovus, etc you’ll never go back to a 2-way like this.
100% agree. I have been so very lucky to have been able to get an Emotiva C1+ for the center and it is great. It's the highest priced of the four center speakers I have, but is by far the best. Dialog is so clear. Hopefully, I will someday be able to get a pair of Emotiva Tzero speakers for the left and right sides. But, for now the Sony SS-CS5 are filling those spots just fine.
