- Gator's emaciated frame told a story of prolonged suffering, barely clinging to life. He had been intentionally starved near death in his owner's yard. And his owner continued to watch him wither away and did absolutely nothing about it. In fact, it's almost as if, in a sick, twisted away, he enjoyed it.
Yet, amidst the pain, Gator's resilient spirit shone through. His eyes, though filled with fear, also held a glimmer of hope, begging for a chance at a second lease on life.

Unfortunately it's NOT a federal offense, not sure where you're getting that from but it's wrong. The state I live in only classified it as a misdemeanor until a few years ago and now, thankfully, it's a felony. More states need to make it a felony.

Absolutely not one to advocate for more gov't but I believe we're at the point where one should be required to have a license to own a pet.. Too many people are just not capable, loving or responsible enough for the responsibility..

That's a rule I disagree with, mainly because it's too hard to enforce especially if the owner moves away. Just change the charges so significant jail time and a very heavy penalty are enforced and much of this will disappear.

So when situations like this happen, they go to court for it. They usually tell them they are not allowed to own anymore animals. But how could you know if they keep it hidden, you know? And they are either slapped with a hefty fine or jail sentence.

If it's proven that there are no medical issues in his blood work, he's eating OK in care of the vets, and municipal codes are in compliance with animal abuse, there can be charges. The other pit may have prevented him from eating, which the owner would also be held responsible for.

She was in a shocking state, but with patience love (lots of) I got her right back on track. I was only blessed having her for 2 and a half years I absolutely adored her. yes, I'm a crazy 🇬🇧 dog lady who prefers animals to humans if I'm honest.
