Bringing back so many memories tonight as I go through hundreds of videos of BCR , Sweet , Sherbet, Skyhooks , Meatloaf, JPY and so many more bands and singers that gave us Aussie kids so much joy and happiness in our early to mid teen years …every Friday night one of our crowd would have a dance party at their house and we would collapse hours later totally exhausted from dancing and singing our hearts out ….the late seventies and early eighties were such a great time to be a kid/ teenager …before computers and mobile phones were even really a thing except in spy movies . Only drug around in our crowd was a little weed and not many were even interested…a little blackberry nip from dads shelf in the fridge was a naughty little treat lol…on a Saturday night we walked around with our friends going to each others houses with a radio cassette player blasting away our favourite songs as we walked, having a snack or a quick swim in the river before we went to the next stop for a rest and maybe an icy pole if we were lucky , no worries about safety as long as we didn’t walk in front of a car and we got home before curfew…it’s crazy the things I remember clear as day yet years and years of my life are blank spots in my brain …life was so much easier and less stressful than it is now , not just for kids but all age groups. It was kind of sad when friends started to drive because it scattered our group and our routine we had loved for years drifted away ……….
