- हमारे गांव के पास खड्ड के क़रीब गद्दी चारवाहों ने डेरा लगाया हुआ था। उनके पास हिमालयन (बाण और मास्तीफ) कुतिया थीं। उन कुतियों ने चैरी पे अटैक किया जब हम उनके डेरे के बोहोत नज़दीक चले गए थे। उनके पास दस घोड़े, बोहोत सारी भेड़ बकरियां और उनके प्यारे प्यारे मेमने भी थे। चरवाहे ने बताया कि कुछ साल पहले उनकी 22 भेड़ बकरियां एक एक्सिडेंट में मर गईं थी और सरकार से उन्हें मुआवजा भी नहीं मिला। उन्होंने बताया कैसे चोर और लुटेरे उन्हें जंगल में तंग करते हैं और उनकी भेड़ बकरियों को चुराते रहते हैं।
Near our village, there were encamped by gaddi Shepherd's of the ravine. He had Himalayan (Baan and Mastif) female dogs. Those dogs attacked Cherry when we moved very close to their camp. They also had ten horses, very many sheep and their beloved lambs. The shepherd said that a few years ago his 22 sheep goats died in an accident and he did not even get compensation from the government. They told how thieves and robbers harass them in the forest and keep stealing their sheep.

It's hard for himalayan dogs to survive in mid or south india , as there habitual of cold weather and they have huge furs which make hard for them to live in warm regions
