Unpacking the Ethos of Jazz is Punk

Embracing complex harmonies can be a catalyst for internal revolution, without which there is no external revolution. Respecting the roots of resistance that are still ever-present in the tradition of Black American music is a timeless task for someone who is merely a humble guest to it, and a slippery slope that I may not always walk with grace, but it would be a disservice to live my life in music and not at the very least try to understand where the music I love comes from.
