Im curious how the blend works in comparison to the "Gilmour Switch Mod". I just rewired a Strat with Fender CS54's, a tone for Neck/Middle, separate tone for bridge, and a toggle switch to add the neck to any pickup position. I like it a lot, but im curious how different it is to blend in the neck instead of just adding it in full strength. Still looking for that perfect Strat pickup for my tastes though. The 54's sound fantastic, but are quite noisy, especially due to not having the middle a RWRP.
Great question! It makes a huge difference to be able to blend in just as much as you want - I swear by the Emerson Custom Blender Kit! Also, using the kit means you don’t need to aesthetically or visually mod the Strat in any way with an added switch, since you just use the secondary tone knob for it… and to be honest I never use the tone knob on neck or middle anyways, and rarely use it on the bridge - so I definitely do not need two tone knobs! Emerson’s parts are superior for the tone I want to hear, and they sound great with this pickup set as well as others I’ve used over the years! Generally speaking I’m not a fan of stock regular or custom shop pickups from fender or Gibson, I always replace them first thing and upgrade the wiring as well. Always appreciate you watching! The bleding makes a HUGE difference!! In my strat, i have one tone knob for the entire guitar and the remaining tone knob is to blend in the neck pickup!!!
