When this feature is enabled for individual chat or group all messages after its enabled will get deleted after 7 days.
Only Group Admin Can enable/disable the WhatsApp disappearing message feature for the group.

Enable disappearing messages
Either user can enable disappearing messages in an individual chat. Once enabled, messages in the chat will disappear after seven days.
1. Open the WhatsApp chat.
2. Tap the contact’s name.
3. Tap Disappearing messages.
If prompted, tap CONTINUE.
Select On.
Disable disappearing messages
Either user can disable disappearing messages at any time. Once disabled, messages sent in the chat will no longer disappear.
1. Open the WhatsApp chat.
2. Tap the contact’s name.
3. Tap Disappearing messages.
If prompted, tap CONTINUE.
Select Off.

Sir agar double tick nhi gaya hai , mtlb saamne Wale ne msg recieve hi nhi kiya to bhi delete hojayega kya , maine 24 hrs ka disappearing msg on rakha hai

Even if the disappearing message is turned on, chats older than 7 days will disappear not all the chats. Are you sure no one hit the "Clear Chats" button?
