    What a flippin' FLAWLESS interview by Jim Parsons. I'm fascinated by certain celebrities' ability to speak on polarizing topics in a way that is strong and honest, without condemning the other side or specific people. In this interview, he didn't shy away from any topic, he spoke honestly and openly, addressed everything, but did it in a way that wasn't judgmental or cruel to anyone else. I respect him even more because I didn't get the feel that he was pandering or being careful. It's just the natural skill of being a good gd person.

    Jim Parsons has the tri-fecta. He's handsome, intelligent and an intuitive communicator. He is Jim first and not an identity or group. His experience with marriage if you didn't see the picture could have described any marriage. That is what it's all about. Love, not biology. I have enjoyed every interview or commentary he has done publically. I first heard him talking about sports and it was great. Thank you Jim for all your creative endeavors. I thought Van did a good job in this piece until he went to far thanking and apparently somewhat embarrassing his guest with Hero speak at the end. When you run into a person with a reasonable perspective and values they may seem like a hero but it's only because you gave them an uninterrupted platform where you actually listened without triggering and you began with respect to the person speaking. You were polite and it went well. Jim Parsons is an entertainer, not a hero in the classic sense, he is great but would be just as great if he was a electrician who was your neighbor. There is a reason a majority liked this interview. It was a graphic on qualities lost on division and partisanship. There is a space were we can all live together, JP and people like him are there waiting for more to join him.

      I think the notable thing here is....you have the right to say what you want...Rosanne Barr isn't in jail for saying what she said. Shoot...the red head one isn't in jail for holding up a bloody head of Trump....so they aren't being policed. However, when you speak or write things out loud...then you risk attack, or ramifications. Rosanne has the right to say what she wishes....ABC has the right to not want to be attached to such sentiments. Agree or disagree....we still have the right...AND that is pretty awesome

      Andy Jones blacks are very sensitive to anything racist. Especially in this day and age when you can actually voice that you are being discriminated against and get sympathy for it. Talking about racism is still a fairly new thing. Now that more people are aware of it and others feel safe to say something without too much condemnation, then they'll do it. It's basically another me too movement. And a lot of blacks or dark skinned people still face hate due to their skin tone or lifestyle. It's way deeper than just being butt hurt over racist jokes. And that's how a lot of black people take it.

And his performance in "Hidden Figures" was certainly worthy of an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor. Moreover, he's got the meatiest role in the revival of ?Boys in the Band" on Broadway and he just about steals the whole show. Of course, he has the biggest role in the whole play. The sooner we let people have relationships with whoever they like (man, woman, trans) and not ridicule them for being sinners and abominations the better off we will be. Same with racial and nationality concerns. We are all people capable of being good or bad. Some of us choose to not see that and go with the people that push the stereotypes.

      It really does show that Trump can get away with anything when the "real people" he claims to represent obviously cannot. Roseanne had a lucrative job, no doubt. But if she can't get away with a minor thing compared to the things he "tweets," it just proves he can say whatever he wants with no consequences. So good for her. A Trump voter showing that what he's doing is obviously not okay with American standards.

      Rex Nemovi 1. Wrong, but nice try. Someone can look African American and not look like every other African American. Unless you think “they all look the same” 🤔
      2. Again, it does NOT matter what POA was about. She called a black woman an ape.

    • @rexnemovi6061
      @rexnemovi6061 6 років тому +2

      M H
      1. Nobody but you talked about any group of people all looking the same. The issue is whether Jarrett does or doesn't exhibit obviously identifiable features of her partial African descent. If Jarrett exhibits them, they must exist, if they don't exist, she cannot exhibit them. If that's too difficult a concept for you to grasp, just don't worry about it.
      2. Your repeating this lie (of course, I have no way of knowing whether you actually haven't read Roseanne's tweet and are merely parroting what you've heard, or you actually read it but are not literate enough to understand it) won't make it true. That of course won't save Roseanne from being subjected to 21st century equivalent of being burned on stake or lynched by the ignorant mob.
      A bit ironic when it's people like you who is calling the others bigoted.

    • @MH-yj4qq
      @MH-yj4qq 6 років тому

      Rex Nemovi 1. You are the one who said Jarrett doesn’t display African features. Thus, you are the one who believes that African American people must look a certain way.
      2. Again, it does not matter what the plot was. She called a black woman an ape

    • @rexnemovi6061
      @rexnemovi6061 6 років тому +3

      M H
      1. You are the one who said that it "is a complete lie that Jarrett doesn’t look African American". So it's YOU who says that there exists such a thing as "looking African American" and that Jarrett exhibits that. Again, either you were wrong saying such a look exists, or you are wrong saying that Jarrett exhibits it. And you are the one who tries to bring into the debate any kind of groups.
      2. We've cleared that out. I accept that either it is beyond your intellectual horizon to grasp what Roseanne's tweet was about, or you know and understand that you're lying but you're determined to stick with that. It' is not my life's ambition to succeed in educating you or to make you stop lying, so I am ok with that.

      cluelessflower Being 80 doesn’t mean it’s the end either. My Mother in law is 85 & has a more active life than most 30-40 year olds I know! lol She bowls twice a week in a league, (with an average of 180!) goes to get her hair done every week, plays bingo 3 times a week, & she’s ALWAYS on the go. She still drives, (better than most..lol) And travels at least once a year. Last year she went to Rome for 2 weeks, & has traveled across the country at least twice a year for the last 4-5 years, to visit relatives. She was forced to leave her job (yes, job!) in a NURSING HOME, as a Nurse’s Aide, at age 80 because the Home’s insurance policy would not cover her anymore. She still wanted to work, & they wanted to keep her. It’s crazy! This woman is seriously active, & has more stamina than anyone I know. I swear, she will live into the triple digits. I guess the key to living a long life is to keep active, both body & mind. (Oh yeah, she LOVES crossword puzzles too! lol)

Life is what you make it. (& I am a VERY sick person, so I know) The key to a long life is staying active, both physically & mentally. I don’t honestly believe that Roseanne should of had her show cancelled because of one tweet. When the president of the untied states can tweet more Outrageous and offensive things and still has everything going for him. It’s kind of hypocritical in my opinion. People are so offended these days.

      Bronco - This show is more akin to a department at a large company. Companies shut down departments all the time because they're either not profitable or don't align with the company's direction. It sucks that they lost their jobs because their boss couldn't manage her social media addiction but she should have known better. She definitely should have known better. Life will go on.

    • @adamrush8360
      @adamrush8360 6 років тому +1

      Because people can still have values that differ from your own. That doesn't degrade them as a person and they aren't pawns in a game. Their people with their own beliefs and I support them for going against the grain.

      @retratosariel 6 років тому

      What I mean is I understand people in the right side have an opinion and values that I find difficult to understand but they are still a different perspective and that is still good, what I don't understand is why they follow the president even if he represents the opposite of conservative values and don't want to see how wrong he represents the entire country

    • @adamrush8360
      @adamrush8360 6 років тому

      Ariel Quiroz they don't believe he is wrong. I like many people, feel he is exactly what the country needs right now. Until all this division and insanity calms down, he is the only one who can weather the storm and keep the country from tearing itself apart. One thing you gotta give the man is he is a Juggernaut.

    With all the recent career erasing scandals, Rosanne's bad joke was still not illegal. Our own government even legally recognizes comedy as being different from slander. Social media, or any other written communication, is infamous for not playing well with our emotions. It's why we had to invent idiotic emoticons and equate all caps as yelling. Pop-Culture already separates being famous from being internet-famous, and it's the same as being funny and being funny online, separating the two needs to be the next step. We shouldn't expect anyone to be as equally talented in both mediums. There's always been a unique intelligence in the comedy of Roseanne, it's subtle yet brilliant.
    The original series aired right after the discovery of HIV/AIDS and during the time Matthew Shepard's death was not considered a hate crime. Nobody, not one teacher, politician, celebrity, parent, or friend, I mean NOT ONE publicly admitted homosexual youth existed. I knew I existed as a gay teen living in the Midwest. So when conservatives found new things to hate about me, Rosanne still had recurring openly gay characters. Nobody was dying from AIDS, were bike-shop owning pedophiles, trans-sexual serial killers, suicidal or even outcast in small town middle America. They were real, with real job, and have the same issues. Nobody was a "very special episode" gay. It seems subtle now, but watching a show where being out was normal and accepted with my parents... It was a profoundly positive message to a gay white kid living in Kansas. Throw in Rosanne didn't respond favorably to the kiss, she was still straight and loved Dan of course, and it's as subversive as "All in the Family."
    I really hope there's something more to this, America is just waiting for a second shoe to drop for Roseanne. If not, this is some next level BS. A talented female comedian was destroyed for telling one joke, and the outcome professionally is the same as somebody who drugged and raped for decades.

      because he didnt take an extreme stance on the issue..I think many people thought he was going to say Barr was evil, racist, etc..instead he was civil, and was basically non-political...I suspect many on the left disliked it for the same reason many on the right disliked it..it wasnt hateful, and divisive.
