Heya guys thanks for posting! Like that portable rock saw! Can you tell a bit more about it? Would you recommend one like that? Does it run on 12vDC? How powerfu is it? Looks like a great setup for out in the field!
The saw is a 6" trim saw from Hi-Tech Diamond. The motor is a 1/4 hp variable speed direct drive ranging between 800 rpm - 3,400 rpm. Perfect for cutting turquoise, garnet, emerald, ruby, glass, topaz, quartz and agate or any junk rock you want to open up and polish. It weighs about 15 pounds, holds around 16 ounces of water and is 110/115 volt. A stout portable generator would be recommended for field use because it will draw some amps. I would recommend it and maybe a 6" Slant Cabber (rock/mineral model) as well. You will be able to cut and polish while camping in the field.
Another great mineral hunt, awesome specimens & great friends! Who could ask for more? Good job brother.

The generator works on the smaller stuff, but the bigger specimens are brought home to cut.
