Krishnagiri dam is located in between Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri 10 kms away from Krishnagiri and river thenpennai is supplying water sources to the dam, this dam is constructed in 1955 - 1957 by former chief minister of Tamilnadu thiru. Kamaraj benefited thousands of acres of land around Krishnagiri irrigated with the help of this dam. This dam have park around 50 Acre land area either side being decked with beautiful flower gardens children playing equipments.
This is a famous tourist spot. This dam is flooded with tourists during the weekends.The entry ticket for a person is ₹5. There are two wheeler and four wheeler parking facility available near the park. There are monkeys around the park. The park has children play area, fountains, lawn and jogger footpath. The KRP Dam and the park are suitable to visit throughout the year. The park is open all days of the week.
Also in the middle of the dam, there is a fishing area. In the morning hours, you can get fresh fish on the shores. Unfortunately, you don't have an option to travel to the middle of the dam.
