I would replace AM as the 2013 representative with Daft Punk's Random Access Memories. The cooperation between them and Pharrell Willians in "Get Lucky" and especially "Lose Yourself to Dance" are amazing, with the retro beats combined with new technology and Pharrell's declicate, but still powerful voice. "Doing it Right" is repetitive on the right sense, with a bubblegum chorus that is a constant reminder that people are having fun. "Fragments of Time" showed how much can you put emotion on a mixture of Techno, Soul and Disco, with a groovy guitar in the back. And my personal favorite, "Giorgio by Mororder", is a epiphany of music, with Giorgio Mororder's speech at the beggining with the buildup at the back giving such a grandiose homage to one of the best music composers in movie's history. It showed that, sometimes, going back to the roots is a good way to improve the pop road.

Honestly, I haven’t listened to many albums in full from this decade, although of the few I did, one in particular stuck out to me a lot. Wuthering Heights’ Salt album from 2010 is a true work of art and it’s a real shame that it was only around a few years ago that more people finally did learn of it (including myself).
