It's nice to hear someone like you, going to Palau and appreciate your patience in island and wonderful place on Earth. I am from there.! I live at Sacramento California state.. take care!
Alii! Glad you had the time of your life. I’m Palauan living in San Diego, Ca. Just left Palau in July this year. Hadn’t been home since I was 10 yrs old. I’m finally moving back in a few months but to Guam first. Your video was well done. Sulang.
Very nice vlog. Now I want to vakay in Palau even more. Thanks for sharing. Did you notice if any activities, restaurants or tourists spots are wheelchair accessible?
Thank you so much! 😊 Based on my experience - unfortunately, it did not seem too wheelchair friendly. Some restaurants and stores won’t be a problem but we did go to quite a few places with stairs that had no ramps or elevators. Also, getting on the boats were usually stepping from a platform down into the boat. Don’t let me discourage you though - the people of Palau were very friendly and helpful. I’m sure if you contact a restaurant, tour company, etc. ahead of time, they will check to be sure they can accommodate your requirements.
I have to tell a story too when I was in Peleliu with friends.. We were heading back home from Camp Beck and on our way home our car died right in front of a cemetery. I didn’t know until my cousin who lived there told me that the cemetery was to my right and I was on the passenger seat, I got so mad when she told me that cause why would she when it was past midnight?? Lol her husband said there was gasoline in the trunk so when we went to get we saw nothing there, he the husband then said I’ll walk to a nearby house where he knew someone and get gas.. I begged him no don’t leave us here alone but he insisted or else we’ll be stuck here.. With all the ghost stories I’ve heard before that was the longest wait in my entire life lol when we finally saw him walking towards us I was relieved but wait….. when he came back he went to the trunk and guess what?? There was the red container of gas that was there all along! How we didn’t see it in the first place…. Idk 😳
Hi!! My boyfriend is Chamorro and originally from Guam and some of his family was moving back. We both liked the travel opportunities that we would have if we moved over there as well and I’ve always wanted to live on a tropical island lol.
