Interesting features but unfortunately built-in battery. I don't understand why nitecore does this. The ut-27 has a better solution, why not the same here?
I agree the UT27 has a battery pack removable and option to use AAA's. I've been pretty vocal to Nitecore about moving away from this built in battery design on many products. As I said they could make a 14500/AA version that isn't much larger and have easily replaceable batteries and option to run off a normal AA too. For a moderate size increase would make little difference would be small and light still. Such a model would be a winner in my view or have a removable Li-Po battery which can be easily replaced or spares purchases at reasonable cost.
There might be lots of normal ppl that find it easier to just plug it in when batteries are down. Numbers must say that this sells because this is what most corporations do. when they think profits. We used to change batteries when it was over on our phones. Sony and Pioneer put mass production on integrated Hi-Fi Sterios, or anything in one, when I was a boy. I have the EDC 33 and some other products that will end up as trash when the battery fisishe but the reality is they last for many years with my usage, but I try to think about how cheap was and then I'll buy the best option at that time.
@@Man_Ray78 Phones might be moving back to replaceable cells due to regulations coming in soon. Also with a depleted cell you can just drop another one in there if you need or carry a spare. They might last for years if you are a light user, but it's still wasteful longer term.
I have written many comments on nu27 videos, but no one from Nitecore has responded to my complaints about the battery capacity. It is not a problem if the battery is built-in. The problem is the small capacity. Because the capacity degrades over time. If you have a headlamp like the nu53 with 6000 mAh, it doesn't matter. UT27 is ideal. Upgrade version have 1500 mAh and replaceable and also has light weight.
There is a new one coming with a removable battery it's AA compatible so I am told should turn up next month, so I've asked to review it. I don't have any details on it but assume we have same multi colour output etc.
@@leesiman790 Why? There are places that will replace the battery in it. I seriously doubt you can buy a battery for this flashlight. Also just because one thing is a throw away doesn't mean that more things should be throwaways.

@@MrBazReviews wow, super, I'm looking forward.
nice
The design and output I like
No replaceable battery makes this just a throw away item. Guaranteed to be e-waste.
Throw away your phone first
I've been vocal on the built in battery design and many makers are doing it, and I think it needs to stop.
In Europe they are making moves to push makers to have easily replaceable batteries in phones, I think it's a good idea.

@@MrBazReviews Yeah I hope so.
