Edvard Grieg was the first metal musician. This was an inevitable transition and many have attempted this, including apocalyptica, but I think you went about it the right way and didn't try to change the song's essence. You didn't have to make it metal, it was already metal, that's what others have failed to grasp but you saw it and exploited it. This is perfect in every way. Really great job.
Yeah, I was looking for a metal version of this song, and I saw Apocalyptica's first. I thought it was terrible. This is much better.

One of the best songs used to describe things spiraling out of control. Seemingly describing the logical steps of one thing leads to another, and as things overlap, things gets heavier until it reaches a sudden stop - don't be fooled, the sudden stop is only our view in summary, separately same/similar/different versions of In the Hall of the Mountain King still continue.
Something similar happened at our school. The orchestra was playing In der Halle des Bergkönigs and our band got bored as well as frustrated, because their piece was cancelled. So they just were there, behind the thin wooden wall that separated the stage from the staff room and decided to jump in. The orchestra stuttered for a second, since it was completely unplanned and spontaneous and they didn’t know we’d do it. But then they rolled with it and was amazing. Both for us in the band and for the orchestra. Also for the audience, since we somehow managed to get just about three hundred positive review cards from 250 guests. Don’t ask me how that happened. Everyone got only one card to write down his thoughts.
In case You’re wondering, in our school we have these feedback cards. Half the size of a postcard. And we give them to everyone attending an event.

I’m imagining some kind of game that includes a “Mountain King” character, and this song plays during their boss battle, having dynamic levels of intensity depending on what phase the battle is in.
Edit: Here are possible timestamps for each phase: 0:00 Phase 1/Introduction, 0:50 Phase 1.5/2 getting more difficult 1:22 Phase 2/2.5 bigger increas in difficulty than the last one, 1:58 Phase 3, the boss will have a big increase in difficulty and maybe some visual changes, introduction of new attacks, 2:21 Phase π, slight calm down, small decrease in difficulty, 2:50 Phase 4, the health bar depleted and a second one appears, another difficulty increase, the climax of the battle new, strong attacks, drastic visual change, and finally 3:34 Phase ☠️, a cutscene starts and the Mountain King starts to die, you have finally beaten them, maybe one of those quick-time events where you have to mash a button could be in this phase, 3:58 the battle is over.
