Lexi she goes to school with me and she's not the girl you think she is she acts nice to everyone that's a stranger but if you knew her like personally she's mean I never dislike her or hated her but she hated me for no reason.
"I'm a model." :OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO "Are you surprised?" A little bit. I found that hilarious.
I don’t have alopecia but I have PCOS and one of the rare side effects is hair loss/thinning so it really hit home when she said how scary it is to see your hair fall out because I go through that every day and it’s terrifying seeing how much hair comes out after I take a shower... plus I’m 18 so I’m really self conscious when I see other people my age with really pretty hair where mine is getting thinner by the day :/
I can totally relate to hair falling out for hair related reasons. Stay strong girl!❤ also there are many things u can do to better it so dont worry❤💖 I know it is extremely frustrating though
She is a girly she goes to school with me and she has an attitude I didn't dislike her or hate her because I didn't do anything to her but she hated me for no reason
Wow, I have alopecia and this is so relatable. Except people were(still are) very mean to me. I'm 15 but lost all my hair when I was about 9. It was very difficult for me especially in school. Lots of people up till now say that i should wear a wig or go for hair transplant surgery. They whisper stupid things to themselves like "how will she get a husband?". On the first day of school after all my hair fell out, I got made fun of so much, the next day I started wearing a cap every day to school and it slowly transitioned into me wearing a cap everywhere I went except my house. Now I will be going to university soon, and I am tired of hiding behind a cap. I have started going out with no head covering to some places (except school and many other places). It's still very difficult because people will stop and stare at me, some even point!. I prefer when people ask me about my condition instead. I live in Nigeria so, it's pretty difficult to live with such a disease here. I love my country and all but we lack so many resources. Hospitals couldn't find out what was wrong with me. It was until I got a private doctor because my parents were worried that I found out the name of my disease. I hope someone like Lexi and I can spread news about alopecia and make it something that others girls and boys as young as me don't have to dread. I'm slowly working on myself and self esteem. I hope at this rate I will be able to go to college and other places without a cap. I have already slowly started however. My name is Ajina Kareemah. And I'm proudly an Alopecian 😄
Hi Ajina¡¡ i read your story, keep it strong¡¡¡ is so good you start little by little stop using your hat. I understand you,how you feel, but life can make moves that you dont think is possible, wish you the best and happy christmas¡
Thank you for sharing your story, I wish you all the best of accepting your look and learning to feel good about yourself. I can imagine people can be very cruel in their assumptions and I hope you will gain the strength to conquer shame and start teaching people! Although I live in the Netherlands I happen to have have a Nigerian aunt that married my uncle so I learned a little bit about Nigeria. Love and greetings from the Netherlands to you and your beautiful country.
I have a friend like her. She was on a different swim team than me so basically we were competitors against each other. But that doesn’t matter cuz she was cool and we wished each other good luck.
The girls at the beginning were just so precious. I enjoy how the eldest one allowed the youngest to say what she noticed what was a bit strange, without being offended.
My GF just recently developed alopecia about a year ago and she is having a hard time dealing with it. She had to deal with some bullying at HS and decided to do homeschooling again. She gets certain treatments done to try to slow it and reverse it. They are making strides in research on cures for it though.
That's great hear she's happy with the way she looks. Most people will always wish they had their hair back, but she loves herself and very grateful!!! I'm proud of her, she's such an angel and it would be great to meet her !
Shes mad pretty. I have alopecia areata from a skin infection I had when I was a small child, the infection left but my immune system kept attacking, my bf doesnt make me feel ugly for it. He makes me feel like the most important thing to him.
This is amazing. I have had alopecia since 8th grade (currently in 12th) I finally got fed up and shaved my head. Its amazing to see how alopecia takes effect on different people. Like Im only missing my hair on my head so when I wear a wig no one can tell
