I spent much of my childhood in front of a glass-fronted bookcase singing "Half-Breed" into a hairbrush. Cher is unique and magical and incredibly kind and moral and intelligent. What a great entertainer and, more importantly, great human!

What did Bono do? Sonny finished his life as a GOP congressman. The bottom of the barrel. It's clear who had the talent and who didn't. I'm sorry. Cher has NEVER had a lull in her career. I loved their show and I got You Babe is still my favorite love song. I never watch late night tv shows, but one night I'm folding laundry and tuned in and found Sonny Bono with Cher and they were singing that song. Brought tears to my eyes and smile on my face.

He was at a nightclub and saw a guy with long hair (Sonny - very odd at that time) so he was walking but staring at him and ran right into Cher! This was when they were Ceaser and Cleo - he says I’m gay cause the fabulousness of Cher touching him had to come out somewhere! ❤

The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour was perfectly timed for 1971. Nobody has ever seen such outfits in prime time and a glamour gal doing wacky characters in wacky getups. Plus, it was much later in a rerun that I realized Steve Martin was part of the supporting comedy troupe. I knew I'd seen him somewhere before.....
Looking back brings a smile when Cher walked onstage at the various Academy Awards Shows wearing her latest outfit. Both outrageous and outstanding at the same time.
" I Got You Babe" is one of my favorite songs. I also love "Half Breed" and "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves". I am happy she is getting recognition she deserves.
Two songs that really showcased her incomparable voice are from her early-mid 70's solo semi-dominence of the pop charts..."The Way of Love" and " I Saw A Man, and He Danced With His Wife". Moonstruck was one of the first movies we had on VHS. I had our first son at the time. (He's 35 now). I would be up, feeding him, middle of the night ... and I'd turn this on with no sound. (What a weird memory but a memory nonetheless). I love Cher.
Funny to note that Cher chased Sonny and lived with him because she was homeless and he felt bad for her. He was attracted to curvy women and she was too young for him. It is ironic how he tried to financially tie her to him for ever but got caught. I am glad they stayed friends even when they stopped being lovers and remained good parents for Chaz.🙏💕
