I feel like I don’t get enough time to make changes to my coverage before the cpu hikes the ball… then I’m caught in a bad defensive set up and guys are open.
Agreed, and it seems like they've added a delay to making multiple adjustments very quickly. It should be that way on offense but defensive setup should be faster to pull off. Offense already has the advantage via hurray up, etc

I just figured this out last night I want the match but I want the insurance over the top. I wish there was a way to keep the thirds unmatched but the seam flats as matching
Just do cover 3 sky and leave the deep blues in their assignments, and man up the flats and hook zone assignment defenders.. literally the same concept but much easier to do and more secured play, to know you dont have any broken coverages
Also if they run a formation that has 4 recievers on 1 side; your match concepts wont work. If they run a bunch, then palms works better. If they run a double formation then quarters works better

I tried all the expert suggestions and was getting torched. I went back to my 2014 style and play and now I can make stops. Changing your zones flats was KILLING me bc my guys wouldnt play the zones default allows the Ai to adjust to formations better. Also all these adjustments should be allowed to be made in the coaching screen in pregame. No team changes their disciplines every game and every play. Its just another aspect of using an old out dated game engine. There were NCAA versions 10 years ago that allowed more control of rosters formations and gameplay.

Someone WILL drop their assignment. 2. Everyone need to know if you set you curl flats to 30 I ONLY applies to curl flats. Some people think all purple zones will follow that adjustment. Last thing .. Tampa 2 CAN be matched Take way mid read is one way .. not saying it's a safe thing to do lol. Or just utilizing push coverage... coverage will continue to reassign aka push then match . For advanced players there's also blitz cover 2 zones or readjust weak side assignments.. that will trigger tampa 2 into match as well . I agree it's some things different from madden so it can get tricky.. the best advice is don't use match against Texas.. you will get smoked lol 😅

If you are usering an LB that has matching responsibility, then it should be common sense that if you do not cover his responsibility, then someone will be open. That was not the point of the video.
The level of detail is impressive but so goddam unnecessary. This game has become so overly technical, its ruined. All this zone crap, coverage this and that. We get to adjust the crap outta everything. Its stupid. Why cant EA just make a game that we dont have to adjust so it will play properly? This bs, all the management crap, pipelines, recruiting. Its all BS imo. Nothing EA cooks up today will surpass the elegance and simplicity and fun that can be found in their older PS2 and PS3 NCAA Football games. All this detail is BS. Not necessary but this is what we get from EA these days, MINUS other features that used to be in their previous games, like user profiles with stat tracking, trophy rooms, etc. What next EA? Team doctors? Physical injury management, sports medicine simulation? TV style Ads? F this game and anything else EA barfs out.
100% ? That is not correct. There are match coverages that work as intended. However, as a game that responds based on programming, match coverage can easily be manipulated if you understand the rules that makes the game uses for the matching to occur.

Defense is shit period. Offense has a huge advantage due to poor coding and it is not limited to this issue with match.

20-25 curl flats stop corner routes! So if you’re getting hit with those drop them to that

If you leave a seam flat on one side and put curl flat on the other will the seam flat side still be in match?
Yes. You have to be careful of any crossing routes from the curl flat side as you could be vulnerable to being cleared out with the matching

that is the easiest fix for Cover 3 Match. You can have zone drops on or off with that adjustment

Match is 100% broken in this game. None of it works the way it’s supposed to.

That’s not true. 3 match follows rip/liz rules pretty well. Quarters coverages are a different story though. . .

Can almost guarantee you have zone drops on which will cut off your match principles
