- Welcome to what seems to be the most "unpopular" Unpopular Opinions video in the K-Pop community...
These are some of my unpopular opinions, I made a LONG list but just a few of them are in this video.
Some are offensive and I left them out, others are offensive and I kept them in. ☕🐸
I'm also sarcastic AF so some things are said tongue-in-cheek, or said for comedic effect i.e. Somi's braids etc.
Why? Because that my shady sense of humour!

You may disagree but I personally don't see my opinions as "bashing". I think bashing is abuse and defamatory not sharing your honest opinions.
Any opinions on individual idols are merely comments of my i-m-p-r-e-s-s-i-o-n of their public persona, NOT of them as human beings - there's a difference. The critiques focus upon stereotypes that are personal red flags to me, and stereotypes that I find can be slightly irksome to MY community (which is my personal view)...
BUT I'M OFFENDED:
If some of the opinions offend you, my intention is only to share my genuine thoughts and feelings, however unpopular they may be. Having said that, you did choose to click on a video that was crafted under the "my actually offensive unpopular opinions" tag...nobody forced you 😅
BUT THIS COULD UPSET IDOLS:
True, but they're adults. And I think K-netz are One Million times more savage than anything I could ever say...all celebrities need thick skin because they know its impossible to be liked by 100% of people 100% of the time. If they can't handle critical opinions then they're in the wrong business, period.
There are plenty of things I like about them too, they just aren't here because its 'offensive unpopular opinions' tag video.
ARE YOU CRITIQUING PEOPLE FOR BEING THEMSELVES:
No. Your public face, isn't necessarily who you are, your TRUE self is the person when cameras are off, which I have no right to comment on unless I know the individual personally.
However, their public persona? Now that's fair game for critique, just like every other celebrity, politician or public figure in the world. That's life!
Private personality is off limits and i didn't comment on anybody's private personality. But both selections of Onces and Armys have come forward telling me how Nayeon and Yoongi/Namjoon have said T&JH are completely different off-camera, proving my points correct, that this is a difference between public face and private personality. I as an outsider, can only comment on on-camera personas, not individuals personality's. Which like I said, is fair game and anyone who disagrees...well...they would be no advocate of free speech.

Believe it or not, I believe these videos actually provide a safe space where people can have a discussion and share opinions that they are usually scared to mention. So in a strange way I actually think these unpopular opinion videos are good for the K-Pop community.

Honestly, I miss his old intro: "I'm your Hope. I'm your angel. I'm J-Hope." I liked that he could change it up and make it cute, funny, or even really flirty and sexy if he wanted. The new phrase puts a smile on my face when I hear it too! I'm just really mad that he got so much criticism for his old intro and had to change it.

I think Tzuyu was a bit traumatized because of the Taiwanese flag incident with Chinese netizens attacking her a few years back, and that's one of the reasons she's so quiet and careful on variety shows now

I'm sure I heard it come out of his mouth somewhere, I'm only not sure where. it's not like you are guessing either it is quite noticeable and it's kinda confirmed too, heck even in his songs that is displayed. like she says, his "persona" can be taken as cringe for some people, and sincerely how he actually is (how he somewhat shows himself at times, not saying he is not actually changing his personality there either, but it is a bit more tame like you said) it's okay

At least Tzuyu was not being fake as fck. That's her personality and she even claimed that she's really a robot type of person. But saying that she had the least contribute to the group is just really unacceptable many ONCE like me discovered and love TWICE because of her. She also stayed up late and woke up early just to do her job and you don't have the right to question or state that.
Tzuyu is really a good hearted nice person. Everyone likes her sweet nature. She's Very innocent & always honest for her works she don't know to do showoff or comic actings to gather public attention. She is very kind, humble & polite towards everyone even for commoners. But she had faced horrible days during China Taiwan controversy. So now she has became quiet onscreen due to mental trauma at a very young age.

JH: I merely stated that his brand of comedy isn't to my taste sometimes, and that his music (mixtape etc) shows him as 3 dimensional with more depth to him, so I don't get why he can give off the impression of seeming a bit 1 dimensional in western interviews - maybe it's bc of the language barrier???
I also stated that I'm not a huge fan of the 'hi im the crazy quikry energetic Asian guy' stereotype, because that stereotype has been used, in the past (by westerners), to degrade, devalue and belittle our community. And there's SO LITTLE Asian representation as it is, to balance it out and show other side of who we can be and how we can be portrayed...so I guess thats just my personal political gripe??
Tzuyu: I personally feel that Tzuyu's Public Persona doesn't make her seem very *personable*. Nayeon says that shes the most fun when camera's are off, BUT we don't have the ability to get an impression of her 'off camera', I can only make snap judgments of impressions I see through mass media. And the impression I received from what I have seen is reflective of a stereotype that I don't particularly care for: you know the one, the 'i'm pretty so i don't need to make an effort with personality' stereotype, which is compounded by that fact she is Twice's designated visual. I'm actually critiquing the stereotype more than her actual personality (I cannot critique personality bc I do not know her) and in the video i'm stating that her public profile seems to fit the bill of that stereotype. I never once said she should change the way she behaves tho, just that what I've seen so far is not to my taste, and not a vibe I personally look as a quality I admire in my fave idols.

Or maybe her manager or agency told her to be like that. Idk, in SIXTEEN she was showing some emotions. But ya know she's really hardworking and at least she loves her fans(unlike some "idols"). Not being the best visual yeh I agree, but her vocals are much better than Momo's(tho she's my bias) or Chaeyoung's. Her dancing is much better than Dahyun's or Nayeon's. And in J-Hope's case u say that u don't like him being loud or the way he acts at interviews. So u don't like idols being too extra or loud and also being quiet? Interesting.

as a tzuyu biased once, I first biased her when I watched sixteen. She had an amazing work ethic then and her vocals and dance have been improving ever since and I'm so proud of her. If an idol is fake or not a nice person irl you can usually tell by how the other members interact with them and all of twice are very fond of her which says a lot.
I can understand not like the jhope persona, but disliking him as a person is unreasonable when it's obvious he is more than what you see in interviews. Jhope acts over the top in interviews because it makes the other members feel more at ease and takes the pressure of RM at times. The members adore him and he's is one of their main sources of comfort so I highly doubt he is fake.
Maybe research more about them in the future before giving your 2 cents

and yeah that was during debut , the role of being the ‘energetic’ person was imposed on him , they forced jin to hide his personality, the whole abs thing was imposed on all of them but mostly jimin suffered the most , namjoon was forced to act in a certain ‘hip hop’ manner , tae was always portrayed by them as a ‘weird kid’ , they were all forced to play certain roles :(( which thankfully because of their success and because their company realised how harmful they were , they don’t have to anymore ! they all have expressed their grievances on this matter but i’d say out of all of them , only hobi is the one who has never opened up about this , he never has , back in early 2015 (just before their inu success) he was once asked if it gets tiring to always be ‘hopeful’ when the camera runs and he said yes and honestly what else were you expecting ? he is only a human , do you expect him to be smiling all the time ? that’s not possible ! im sick of people who see him frowning once and say ‘this is the real hoseok’ no , a person doesn’t have only one emotion , we’re all an amalgamation of different personalities , idk if you’re even a bts stan or not because hobi definitely isn’t always ‘happy go lucky’ , nobody can be , and that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a person with a positive outlook , even the most happiest of people cant be overjoyed all the time , keep this false sob story of hobi living in a pretence to yourself , and always remember , we are never going to know what his whole personality is like , we are never going to know what bts are really like behind the camera , there’s a line between us and them , we are fans of their music and they have their full right to live their personal life like they want

It’s kind a their personalities. Hoseok is usually happy, it’s become a habit to him. Tzuyu is just introverted, it’s a personality trait. Everyone has a personality
There are actually some great points that i could agree on but some are just plain roast. Like how you said that tzuyu is blank and even say that she's like a robot. Recently mina didn't show up for twice concert because insecurity problem, and these type of opinion are the one causing some idol to have mental issues 😯
True like before people make these videos they should try to understand the idols first Tzuyu used to be very outgoing but after that China scandal where she was banned from China like that scandal had gotten JYPE banned from China. After she made the apology video she changed and became quiet and went into a shell that she is slowly getting out of and she is properly traumatized by that, she is probably afraid to do anything that will create controversy so she rather stay quiet. The creator really should have tried to understand Tzuyu before she bashed her personality.

That Tzuyu opinion felt like a personal attack cause I'm exactly like that 😭 It reinforced the idea that people think there's "nothing beyond the surface" about me & it's so upsetting. This is so true . He is known for radiating positive energy but he himself said it's very hard to stay positive since he has very sad and dark moments. For example when I first became an army I always saw him smiling . Then I remember on jhope's b-day his father left him a video message wishing him happy b-day and telling him he was proud for him . J hope has explained many times that he tries to live up to his own name and be a source of happiness and hope for people. He acts the way he does so he can lighten the mood for everyone in the room because, especially in American interviews where really only rm can speak English, he wants to lesson the tension for the other members, even if it means he’s the butt of the joke. When you can understand he is the way he is because of his selflessness and consideration of others, you’ll be less judgmental towards his “over the top” personality.

tracy cheung || I half agree with both sides. Hobi actually has went through tough times like the rest of BTS, and he tries to be positive because that’s his way of staying strong. But at the same time Hobi does get a little too loud. There are certain times when it’s appropriate to be loud and cheery and times when it isn’t. Sometimes he doesn’t get the mood of the atmosphere and acts a little too loud. But I still love him of course. He’s my bias. I just half agree with her/his opinion. He only means to make everyone around him feel happy, but at the same time he sometimes can’t realize that he doesn’t have to do that every time.
He sometimes does act a little extra sometimes. I usually see it as a funny way, but when I actually stop and just think about it, his does act a little immature sometimes. Which I get is funny, but when he does it in interviews outside of South Korea, he really stands out. And not always in a good way.
But I still love him. I don’t want people to take one of my very few negative opinions on BTS as a sign that I dislike them. They are still humans and they have flaws. I will accept their flaws but it doesn’t mean I have to love those flaws.

I think netizens bashed her too much and it scarred her, she was so young during all of that. I think she just chose to think more carefully about her actions which is why she is so "blank", introverted and quiet. I also want to say that Tzuyu has a big heart, she often donates money to charities and people in need. Recently, during her vacation days she donated to children in Cambodia.

I've been a Tzuyu fan since Sixteen. I watched the bright and confident girl slowly diminish into someone else all due to a scandal that wasn't even her fault. You can call other members more prettier than her but calling her hollow would be a far reach. Sometimes we go through so much that all we feel is overwhelming and leaves us empty. I believe Tzuyu is an example of that. The flag incident may not have left much reaction to you but if anyone is not informed it nearly destroyed her entire career. It robbed her chance of success. What I find most amazing about Tzuyu is that she is no longer promoted as these visuals out here but always manages to catch the eye of the public. She was never hyped by JYP (especially after he made her apologize for that ridiculous scandal and just disappointedly let her down) it is the public that likes her, Koreans specifically. And for that I find quiet interesting.

Tzuyu actaully used to be way more energetic and fun in interviews and just in general, before that whole Taiwanese flag incident and those Chinese fans attacking her. She's more cautious and quiet now, much to my dismay. So no, she's not an empty shell, just a person who's paranoid bc of past events. Even idols know how viscous some Kpop fans are.

About The whole Jhope thing. Hoseok himself has said that he feels like he is losing himself to the character “jhope”. and personally I find that really sad. They were all given personality concepts along with their physical concepts. Some of them have broken free from them like Jin. But Hobi seems like he got stuck and so used to his persona he forgot how he was before. Idk.

Jhope has already said due to his stage name he feels the responsibility of always lifting the mood and being a representation of happiness to the fans and members it's all he's ever done and when he's even slightly down the fans start commenting saying things like "Jhope must be feeling sick" when he's just not being super extra like usual so because of that he maintains that persona as Jhope of BTS of course Hoseok isn't as hype but if you watch Bon Voyage type of shows where everyone is just chilling and being themselves you'll see he's still a pretty energetic guy so if you see him being extra he's not trying to be "fake" or "cringe" he's simply doing it as a way to bring joy to those around him, he is an idol after all and his job is to entertain. We know he is brilliant and multidimensional, but it's hard to convey that with broken English and in the face of condescending interviewers, so I think that is his way of connecting with I-ARMYs and making us laugh without waxing poetic like Namjoonie can

I feel like Boy With Luv was made for 12 year olds and old ladies, it was so sickly sweet but it does fit in with the Persona theme which is the bright and bubbly part of someone’s psyche that they want to show the world so I respect Boy With Luv.

J-Hope is an amazing dancer, rapper, beautiful visuals and good vocalist. And Tzuyu is a great dancer, vocalist and is really beautiful.

I totally get your opinion about hoseok.. but this is exactly what made me choose him as my bias.. Some people act silly to hide their pain, sadness, and worry. Some act extra just to lighten up the mood even if that would make them look weird.. idk if this is the case with hoseok but I always had this feeling that he is hiding a lot of things behind his silly laugh..

just wanted to say - although i think you did a great job at making these opinions reasonable, there's still one thing in this video that i find really problematic. while i'm sure you already know this, i feel like you didn't really remember to emphasize that idols are people, and not just concepts? like, we don't know that j-hope has more depth to him 'from his mixtape', we know that just from the fact that he's human. and a big part of being an idol seems to be masking their human imperfections, so i don't think you can fault him or tzuyu for coming across as insincere. like...it's part of their job, especially as south korean idols. also, i don't know twice at all, but i don't think it's ever fair to call somebody 'beautiful but hollow and empty on the inside' - you can say that about her image, sure, but here it sounds like you're talking about tzuyu herself, which is just...rude, horrible, and probably incorrect? of course you did say that you don't know her personally, so i'm sure you already make this sort of distinction, but please make it clearer next time if you keep making this kind of content. like you said, idols are often seen as fictional characters rather than human beings with their own rights and dimensions, and so it's really worrying to see anything that even vaguely promotes that mindset. i mean, it's mainly the industry's own fault, but i really wish content creators would start dealing with these issues as well.
