The G2 Aquarium series have a plug and play option with the union fitting under the valve- so problem solved. There's no silicone\PVC glue included. What you have is a liquid sealant for the internal surface of the inlet corrugated hose. (as explained on page 11 in the manual)
ah ok, whatever it was in the tube had gone completely solid but I got round that. I absolutely love the Reefmat though! I dont know where I would be without it.

My cement was dried up too. I'm not sure what to use instead.
@@BabsAllen I got a small tube of silicone from my LFS, ptfe tape might suffice in a pinch until you can get some silicone.
