UGA trying to distance themselves from the student but she WAS a UGA student who was enrolled in their cooperative with Augusta University’s nursing program in Athens. She could still use UGA facilities, was in a UGA sorority, etc.

Hmmm.. a “concern friend” This friend called @ 12:07 pm..the body was found @ 12:38 pm .. What time did he/she started her morning jog? Since it only took 31 minutes .. Could the friend know more.
Maybe she went for a jog in the morning, and the friend went to class and came back and she still wasn’t home. Doesn’t mean the friend is suspicious. Just means that the cops were able to locate her quickly. From what I can tell, the intramural fields where she was running and the lake where she was found are right next to each other.

DNA was traced to a male that had SA someone else in a home invasion in LA and even had a video of the back of him leaving the house in LA where the attack took place. Sadly, the police still haven't caught the guy. Now this one in Georgia. Are there any military bases close by?

Not really. Closest military base to Athens would be in Augusta, GA which is about 110 miles/2 hour drive with I-20 traffic.
I hope there is a side story about the ineffectiveness of the DA.
