Great information as usual, the hotels wanting information doesn’t worry me one bit, I’m sure that they’ve always had it except for my home address. Looking forward to seeing your video on Madrid as we have been there a few times and we might visit again next year. Thanks Alex.
We have to respectfully reiterate that we as a couple have never once in 20 years been asked for identification by any hotel in the UK on a coach holiday.
Under the terms of GDPR you not only have the right to request a SAR as you mentioned but you also have the right to request that you are ‘forgotten’. Which means that they have to comply with your request. I’m sure if enough people ask for SARs or to have their info wiped the government may well have a change of mind! Thanks for the updates Alex.
Great update Alex. Very useful information. Many thanks for gathering and sharing this news. Turbulence is just columns of air rising and falling and the best thing to do is keep your seat belt fastened at all times. It feels worse than it actually is because it comes as a surprise and your visual references are limited to the seat in front. Don't worry about the wings flexing as they are designed to do that. Aircraft have a crosswind limit that pilots will not exceed. There might be windshear but the pilot flying is trained to deal with that. I recommend you have a look at Pete the Irish Pilot youtube channel where it is all explained. Best wishes, John
John this is brilliant information ! I will be using this in a future video thank you !!! Ps wing flexing sounds a lot better than the wings flapping 😅😂
Super up-date cheers for the info' Alex love :-) I really do hope as folks do continue to support the economy over there, I know as when we were there nattering with the hotel folks, they we're a wee bit pensive to say the least with active feedback from other guests too, it was also the topic in many a discussion at many a coffee stop shured with other folks, not just Brits, the Germans n Dutch too were chunnering on... Hopefully all will come out in the wash.. Have a great warm winter, cheers from Jan & Mark..
Amazing information as always Alex! It would be great if you could split the sections of the video and record each part in different spots. 20 min of the same view/image is kind of too much. It's more like a podcast already. Anyway, I love the channel. Keep up the great work.
Great comment, and you know what I was intending to do this, and I didn't expect it to be this long LOL. I'll definitely bear in mind for future updates (although a bit harder to do in the Summer with loads of people around.
Love the detail of today’s video. Thank you. I wonder how many, if any, Airbnb hosts get out of the rental business? We always stay in hotels - seems easier plus they make up the bed! 😀
i saw your video about using the bus for the villages, i’m only coming for the weekend and want to leave a day free for palma, do you recommend going to valldemossa and deia, or to fornaltux and soller? i cannot do both
When are you coming because in both of those route, most things are closed. There are very few places open in all these places, but you could try valldemossa- I have a video of a one day itinerary...
Thanks alex for such an informative video.. I got a mention too 😂 They can ask for whatever info they want .. But now they say they don't want my bank account details.. Y viva España. Sa Coma here we come. May 2025
Hi Alex, I'm coming there on 24th Dec and was wondering how it would be to get around the island using public buses. Also, any recommendations for hostels and what a solo traveller on budget can explore in 3 days around the island?
@@deepanshuvasudeva1265, yes, buses run every day, but Xmas Day is a fiesta, so the service will be slightly reduced. The timetables on the website are very reliable. 😎
It's so funny how worried people get over what is essentially a new form. All this personal data is already held by your airline by your operator and your hotel. Just one extra form now which it will be stored on and held by spanish national security which is probably more secure that the hotels old systems 😂 the hotel receptionists that have for years had your hooking card details and a photocopy of your passport have never been vetted!!!😊
Ref asking the Spanish Gov about how our info is being held and used. With all due respect to them, they will say 'it's being held securely and we won't be using it for anything'. And there isn't much more that we can require them to tell us about how secure it is. We do hear of major security breaches, and even Gov. documents and discs being left on trains and taxis. It's a bit like when I arrive in Mallorca, three times per year, Once checked in at my hotel, I immeadiately begin receiving e mails from Spanish websites offering products and deals.🤔
If you’re taking children on hols and your surnames don’t match you really ought to always have proof of your relationship with them / written consent from the parent. Irrespective of these new rules in Spain. This is one of the main reasons I haven’t reverted to my maiden name after divorce, so my name matches my children. So much easier 😊
Great information Alex thank you
Fantastic well researched video. Really informative
Thanks so much Tommy!
Thanks
Thank you so much Philip!

Oh really, I thought it was mandatory over there!
This I can verify as I've just had a weekend in London and all I needed at the Travel Lodge reception was the booking email and nothing else.
I guess you would have provided this information to the coach company though? They would have passed this to the hotel I expect.
@@brianjackson7499but you would have provided all of the required information when you made the booking online

Hi Yvonne, that's amazing information, thank you! Just noticed I haven't included the links either to the info which I'll add now!
Companies can refuse a right to be forgotten request if they are obliged my law to hold the information for a set period of time.
Thanks for the update Alex you're doing a great job keeping us informed see you next may👍😁
My pleasure Joe!

Ha, always, nice to have your bed made!
Thanks for all the information, the only difference I can see is having a longer wait to check in at hotel. 😏 Turbulence on landing... very scary 😱
Can't wait for my next flight 😂
I've never been asked for ID by a UK hotel.
Interesting - they are supposed to ask !

Yes, the bus service is excellent and you will find a link to the TIB bus company on the Mallorca Under the Sun website. 😎
Are buses operational around 25th December, or is service reduced due to the holiday? I did check the website and the information was excellent 💯

Is it ok to go there next cause I'm from Wales uk .
Yes!
Often these strong winds can't be seen on the radar
Don't say that or I won't get into a plane on a windy day again 😂
@MallorcaUnderTheSun these strong winds happens very fast. They are up high up in upper level of the atmosphere. Jetstreams

Have a look at another comment left about this in the comments - it's very interesting!
What happens if 1 person does the booking when there are 4 people going
That’s the costumed way of doing things .
Alex, does this apply if you have an Irish Passport?
4 people have to give their details... (if over the age of 14)
Connie, yes!
@MallorcaUnderTheSun thanks love your vidoes xx
