The Worst is arranged beautifully.
I once wrote a cover story for a magazine while listening to this and only this, repeated over and over. Best part is, I later got to interview Glasper and express my thanks. He is a singular talent.

I’ve played this “joint” at least 30 times since the first time I heard it. Dinner Party as a concept is truly “insane”. Terrace Martin, who I’ve loved since “Beige”, Kamasi since “Street Fighter Mas” and, well, Glasper 👌🏾 who I recently saw in Johannesburg, South Africa. I like how they don’t try and dominate each other but instead let the colab play itself out in such a pleasing manner.

Well, you know Robert is a groove master who knows how to weave a mood and this piece is sweet in the way the drummer is playing the melody via the mallets!!! The bass is so spot ON!!!

Yes the engineers did great and obviously the musicians are all excellent, but I would say the room also helped. Appears to be recorded in the large room at Capitol. I was there back in the late 70's. The room is amazing.
Meh, I find it a bit of dark recording with a high emphasis on the low end. It misses openness and sparkle.

This is nice and smooth. His skills on the piano are ridiculous! Man, as a newby to the piano, in my 30's, I have a greater appreciation for the sound and the amount of skill and coordination it takes to play it. Effectively incorporating the pedals into the mix makes all the more difficult. and those who can sing beautifully and play well add an entirely different element to playing.You have to have patience while learning how to play. If you desire to play the piano later on in life, my advice is to take your time and really grasp the theory behind playing piano. The greater the theoretical foundation, the better off you will be. It is very challenging/frustrating. The ability to read and play at the same time, especially in a fast tempo (vivace) and presto(really, really fast!) is hard. But once you get it, piano is very calming and relaxing and helps clear your head in times when you need quiet time by yourself.
+myles7771 I played the piano when I was 8-13 and regret not sticking to it. I'm almost 30 now and I do remember how to read music but everything else......feels gone.
