Problem with the video? Please tell me and it will be removed immediately!
I remember everyone waited for the drop @4:29 and then freaked the hell out, bouncing about like loons. Badboy tune!
Yes!! spot on man! When this hit it was out there!!!!!!! Peaaacee! :)
Yeah, I remember hearing this for the first time and cursing I was not "out"! Absolute beaut' of a tune imo
;-)
Lol that's me...... dad showed me this 13 years old and absolutely jamming out to all sorts of old skool tunes
The first time I heard this I 'd had a couple of strawberrys at an illegal and wondered what the hell was going on!
This music was so out there , so glad to have lived those times
We are still making it in 2020
Me 2 😎😍😎
My 1st time hearing this... I'm of a much younger generation but this is so cool
Someone told me about a club song sampling exorcist movie = I didn't think it would sound this good
I hope it'll come back in charts someday as I have heard BABY IF YOU WANT ME, YOU GOT TO SHOW ME LOVE club song too many times
Such an iconic track. It defines the rave era of the ealry 90's. If you weren't there. Such a shame
@Jesus Is SATAN ... *Fuck off. You haven't a clue. We were ravers*
@Jesus Is SATAN In the UK we used the term rave all through the 90's. It still gets used now!
I remember when this 1st came out, I was in a record store in Camden and the shop DJ was playing this very loud and I said to my mate standing next to me that's the tune we heard a Rocket and the DJ flipped the record up put it in its sleeve and passed it to me. Till this day a never understood how he heard me lol
Acen was such a pioneer of the hardcore scene back then, all his tunes rocked
Paul Ryder so this is classed as hardcore? I thought it was dnb because I discovered in a Goldie album. If this is the case I certainly like this type of hardcore (old school) but I absolutely hate the modern hardcore stuff my old neighbour used to play lol
@@chenugent This classic tune is from 1992, and was being played out when the rave scene was still hardcore. It has elements of jungle/d & b in it, but is definitely old skool hardcore rave. I remember dancing to this at Orange at the Camden Palace in 1992!
Richard Murray interesting man! I bet those raves were insane back then!
@@richardmurray4605 Orange at the Astoria.. then downstairs for Breakfast Club, then the rest of Sunday twitching on the couch...
Acen is a legend of the scene ♥️
Love reconnecting to old classics like this. i was only 15 when listening to rave FM. This dropped in and out while i was recording on the tape player. i would lose the radio signal and it then it would come back crackling. love the days of technology and this track is pure audio magic.
Yep! Damn minicab radios ALLL over my tapes 😂
Definitely one of my all time faves. Complete masterpiece.
Amen was and still is a hardcore legend. This tune has everything, brilliant samples and builds like a you know what! I will never get tired of listening to this tune...ever. Just hope the tunes we are making right now come close!
Alright mate! Fancy meeting you here! God I love this tune.👍
@@robertwright7937 yeah top top tune!!
Heard this at so many raves, never gets old, only gets stronger - listen to this and itdigs up the fight that is needed to take on the shit to come........... never give in til the fight is over..
And it's gotten so deep, luckily even covid if that's what is was felt like a3 day weekend instead of the uniform 5 day ones of the early nineties, sleep??? Wos dat
This is just too much, I'm in fukin tears here. Take me back now. It was not a party, it was a mindset.
FUC MY OLD BOOTS WHEN I WATCH THIS AGAIN IN 20 YEARS IM STILL GONNA BE GRINNING EAR TO EAR THINKING MY MY MY THOSE WERE THE YEARS!
HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE !
Got this when it came out way BITD. That intro' with the cheeky Tubular Bells riff is EPIC...the basic bleeps just after don't do the track justice, but then the (out of time!) vox, mysterious sounding pads and heavy bass stabs come in bit by bit to pick it up again until the end. A hardcore classic!!
This is one of my favorite old rave tunes for sure, it just builds and builds, it's a masterpiece!
This record will still be spinning in space.....
Woaw! Overlapping melodies, kick, beat...
simple and efficient!
Grooverider 1992 reminds me of a lost friend rip MAX . 25 years on and im still luvin this tune SULLY D
sully d God bless
Big up sully d
Fabio quest-space 1992
This label was very good while it lasted especially between 91-93.
This is a good example of why once there was just more original and mysterious creations.
This label allowed its chosen artists complete freedom, that's why this is sublime.
A very cool tune. The Oxford hardcore kick down crew use to get down to this.
So much creativity in the 90's. Todays music is shite in comparison.
Totally agree with you Trudi G
Not looking hard enough
There is incredible music around but you have to sift through tonnes of shit by comparison so I think your comment is fair enough.
you mean shit? roger that
@tranceone11 show me please?
mixes so well with Lord of Null Lines (Foul Play RMX)
One Amazing tune , always in love with this tune.
Special tune, what a time to be alive 🔥🔈
This Lion is very proud that old skool tracks like this exist... genious!

London Astoria on the balcony watching the lasers come down on the crowd below as everyone's hands came through them at the drop. Absolute quality and a memory stored in my brain under 1992!!! What a tune baseline, rumbled back in the day. Nice upload mate 👍 Production House released some of the best tunes in 91-92.
Some classic tune... first got it on a pirate radio tape from London in 92.... acen was the man... hardcore to the core
Trpping to this 20 odd years ago what a find tune
Superb ! Still got this classic one on Vinyl !
Camden palace on Friday night, used to stop the set stone dead and start this right from the beginning, 1992. Epic nights 🎉❤
Max respect to you. I was there aged 15. DJ Chris Paul and The Orange. The Green Man, and The Life And Times Of A Ruffneck, are two more personal favourite Camden tunes of mine. Regards, WR4K.
@@watchreviews4k the Green man and life and times of a rough neck.
Hold the beat, drop the beat, gimme a second 🎶🎶🎶

To me a sophistated and upfront tunage back in the days. Deffo A TUNE OF ITS TIME. "When The Lion Awakes" BONKERS !
That bass line after the break down is something else. I have loved this track for a long, long time!

Fucking amazing record this. I still reckon I could still play it out now!
konspiracykid could drop this on Fkn Saturn pal!
always in my heart
I think it's DJ Blade that's playing a 2018 rework of this. I really appreciate his appreciation of oldskool tracks. Awesome producer.
3:21 "When the Lion awakes, when the lion awakes! there'll be more trouble and war" possibly from Jimmy Cliff 1986 When the Lion awakes tune.

Tune, properly done.
Huge Touchdown Fm trak 241048 in da house....
goodness me, what a tunnnnnnne
Vibes for sure great label.
Samples Tubular Bells!
In fact the main riff sounds familiar to me for that reason!!!
Not a sample. But the riff is sorta re-played/re-invented , with a few diffrences in only2 notes (probably to prevent copyright infringement towards Mr Oldfield)
@@NeTHeaD0865 and respect should be shown to Mr Oldfield..musical genius.
Indeed J. Lotsa respect. Considering he played each and every instrument on tubular bells himself
(multiple times even) :P
Also the theme tune for Halloween (film).
Masterpiece
Absolute banger
im sick of being broke wake up lion
To me , the moment hard core became junglist . This tune . M

Definitely hearing urban shakedown in this hmmm lol!!!
I want to know what the drum sample that starts at 0:41 is, because I don’t see it anywhere on WhoSampled
Parker Tremblay I wanna know too
Could it have been taken & chopped up from this?

+mrvrabeca agreed
+mrvrabeca I'm sure you are the same a sexy woman with best music taste
+Matthew O'Farrell I'm sure you are too but a different gender
***** the grass is always greener on the other side dude. At least it's warm in Bulgaria! - anyway search for DJ PILGRIM PANDEMONIUM THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY tell me what you think
+mrvrabeca i get you i had similar problem. Started to work for the scene in sweden in 80-90 .. and there was no scene only rock. There where no clubs only pubs. There where no dj music only commercials hole artists and singles. they has laws eat to 11pm and after that put on your dancing shoes but not to load neighbours complained. black clubs with people that took all cred money and builded up for the future and competition. no big market if a label. only for the big commercials. a system heavy like i dont know heavy things so you didnt get job or money and hard to make friends due to the system everybody tried to get it better and let you down. Only men and their first ladies that could work and have a life due to the heaveness . I had a brokedown and lost it all my husband and got debts 2000 000 and got homeless i kept my head strong thought this is way people use to do in the old hip hop scene and other cultural scenes before get back on track but it didnt help this system is .. fucked . I didnt know they where also very good and kind of improving things so in the end of time things will be good but not for all of us not in my case but if i didnt give up hope i wouldn't have loose so much.. the internet came and it become crossover so its changing ... so i mean if you dont give up things will turn into a good thing so dont give up its changing and i mean the scene is now more or less global you just have to translate it and find the ones in your countrie that do this .. they have different scenes just start looking for groups and parties on the internet and continue here and you will find clubs or parties that have your taste and also people to share with. thats how the scene started they organized via internet and then you meet new people that knows more also its commercialized today and almost everywhere. i mean the rave scene is in uk. the hardcore scene is in holland , the trace scene is in ibiza and the two step is in cyprys and then there all of the scenes everywhere.
Acen WAS the darkside
Tubular Bells on steroids.
Mike Oldfield - Sentinel
